Are you guys NUTS, Fisher was NEVER hot. she might have been "cute" or marginally attractive but she was never HOT.

as to Moss, i was thinking about how old she looked in the film and it hit me, we have a real double standard in how we judge actors and actresses.

She looks old and Keanu doesn't but they are probably close to the same age. i'm just guessing here as i believe keanu is 39 and i can't imagine that moss would be over 42 or 43.

we are soo used to leading ladies being like 15 to 20 years younger than their counterpart that we think this is the norm. it shouldn't be.

I looked it up and they say she was born in 1967 so that would make her 36.
 
I have to agree, she is only about a 4 out of 10, which for a lead role in a movie like this is really surprising. You might try to justify it by saying that they wanted the character to be believable rather than going for sex appeal, but that arguement doesn't hold water when they have all the pointless scenes in Zion in the first 30 minutes and when you look at the totally overboard chase scenes which had people laughing out loud in the theatre. Casting Britney Spears for the role would add cheesy humor value in addition to sex appeal. Lexa Doig would be an excellent choice I think but you would lose the comedy you would get with Britney.
 
also i think there are many other women who woulda been better fit as trinity...

this isn't an angelina jolie vs carie moss thread....

how bout catherine zeta jones?

for me, as hot as i think zeta jones is, i'd never find her believable in this role.

How about Jerry Ryan?? she's not nearly as hot as zeta jones but i might find her believable.

Come on... tell the truth! With her face, she looks like a MAN... man... Carrie-Man Moss. Yeah, she has a smoking body because of all that weapons and fight training but the comparison to KD Lang is pretty accurate.
 
Monica Belluci would be too hot for that role... I think one of the things that gives Carrie Anne Moss her credibility as Trinity is just the classy babe look - otherwise it would be ridiculous to see a stereotypical hacker like that.
