Viper, you don't have to be connected to the net at all to have your machine cracking, so don't worry about a firewall. Use the flush/fetch by email method.
I don't know if you have access to email there or not, but if you don't, here's how you do it. Go home and write some emails to
fetch@distributed.net. No subject. In the body of the email, just put the block size you want, and the number of work units.
For example, you could put this in the body of the email:
blocksize=33
numblocks=500
Send that off, and a few minutes later you will get a little file sent back to containing a bunch of 'work' for your little box to do. Import the work into the cracking client, and voila, let'r crack away. Continue doing this a few times until you've accumlated some work units. Then, take the buffer_out.rc5 file from the pc, take it on a disk, and mail it to
flush@distributed.net. That's it! Hope that makes sense
As for the surfing problem, you can do a few things. How about going to 'thecloak.com', and using their cloaking system? That way, the employer can't have a clue as to what you do or where you go -- the only thing they see is you going to thecloak.com. If they don't like that though, there's very little you can do, short of using one of various proxy's on the net.
