Had to go outside for a minute and it was f'ing cold... Dont even want to leave my room (have portable heater), let alone leave the house.

Right now, it is ~44F (feels like 41). It is going to get even more colder tonight (~33F)

lol

Just to give some perspective, the coldest temperature recorded in my city was -54F (minus 54).

The coldest temperature with windchill factored in was -70.8 °F.

I certainly don't feel sorry for you having to struggle with 44F :p
Without looking at your profile I am guessing you live somewhere in northern Canada.

I don't know how people can stand such insanely cold places. As I am getting older I find that I don't mind the cold so bad if it doesn't get under 20F or is super windy(wind ruins the whole thing even at only 35F).

I love the warm though because the thing I like to do most in life is swim and you don't get to swim much living in cold places unless you join clubs and places like the YMCA which I am too cheap to do. I want to be able to swim for free. :p

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada ("Winterpeg").

The thing that I love about living here is that even though we have some pretty bad winters (which makes us appreciate going to hot exotic places even more IMO), is that we also have some of the nicest summers. We get almost the most sunshine (in hours) of any other place in North America. If you move to the coast, you get a warmer average temperature, but a lot more rain and cloud cover.

I like it here, even though on the really cold days I absolutely hate it :)

That's cool. I know the summers can be really sweet here in Chicago too. ;) Nothing like the world's prettiest women wearing shorts, short skirts, and sandals. :D

I love the rain and cloudy weather too so I really need to move myself to Florida. I absolutely loved the rain when I lived in Cali... what can I say, I like rain. :p

Rain > ice.

Dude...I would be out in shorts and a t-shirt. I used to live in CA. It does not get cold there if you are not in the Sierras or northern CA. Or the high desert. It can get very cold at night there.

Pussy. Go outside your little bubble and you will realize that 44 is nothing... it's far below 30 in other states in the US right now.

I had to make my own job. This is totally one of those "roll the dice" things. :D
But I figured, if everything goes to hell... as long as I save enough for a tent and a fishing pole... being homeless in Hawaii isn't the worst thing that could happen to me.:D:beer:

Yep...I moved to Kahleeforneeya from Big Piney/Marbleton Wyoming, a place that proudly proclaims itself "The Icebox of the Nation"...and deservedly so...the first winter here in central Kahleeforneeya, I laughed at the folks all bundled up like it was C-O-L-D! when it got into the upper 30's...PVSSIES! I work outside, and went to work in a flannel shirt, and light Carhartt jacket...
Now, after being here almost 20 years...I'M one of those pvssy's who wear heavy coats and b!tch about the cold...I've been Californicated!!

OP, supposed to get to about 28 here (modesto) tonight...and that's fvcking COLD for here...

Heh...many places aren't insulated in SF, have only minimal heat, and NO air conditioners...

Sounds like a third world version of Canada... I mean, if Canada weren't a third world country already. :p
