Dems are not going to support Andy Biggs. Biggs is one of the January 6th seditionists who voted to disenfranchise voters across entire states in order to support Trump's attempted coup.

No, but do any of the 31 support someone else on the floor?

Does he get enough of those 31 on the floor to get 218 though?
Right now, no. But he's probably going to secretly promise to the Freedumb Caucus to impeach Joe Biden and cabinet members, initiate Benghazi style hearings all over the place, and threaten to refuse to raise the debt limit. He can't really do this publicly and hold onto the few moderates remaining in his conference. Although many of the few moderates are leaving the House soon; the few newbies that won in the Hudson River Valley are not MAGAts to my knowledge.

For the election, do we know if Independents swung left or if more democrats showed up to the polls than usual?

Yes and no. Independents did count in races where they mattered. And the young showed up. Still unsure how 5 million more R votes happen. But hilarious the orange monkey boasting about the popular vote this time but totally ignored in 2016 and 2020

It is going to be weeks before California is (mostly) done counting so the R popular vote margin is going to shrink.

Still Republican complaints that their voters are not efficiently distributed so the election is unfair are a delicacy of the highest order.

Expected, but with a way smaller majority and a lot of relatively more moderate Republicans. It might be easier for some bi-partisan work. The Senate majority is way more important long term, as the terms are six years and not two - especially if Democarts gain a seat.

All 435 House seats are up. Democrats have to defend 23 of 33 Senate seats up for election.

And the most likely of those to be questionable are AZ (Sinema), MT (Tester), OH (Brown), WV (Manchin). Haven't yet looked at the R seats that could be close though.

Exactly. Which is why some of the half-wit, magarats we're saying they need to make the orange menace, speaker of the house
GOP Majority Could Attempt to Make Trump Speaker

That would make him the 3rd in Line

They will not do this but if they did it would be awesome. The more Trump is in the news, the more Republicans lose. He’s a one man losing machine.

LOL This won't happen. McCarthy REALLY wants to be speaker and won't give up his spot to the orange dumpster fire. Only a few Republicans need to say f-that and it won't happen because they won't have the majority necessary to elect Trump as speaker at that point.

This is just Q level hopium being free based whenever the subject comes up.

McCarthy becoming speaker of this fractured batshit caucus with only a few seat majority is his ultimate monkey's paw.
