He and they have taken our rights and weaponized them...

Is it too much to hope that... we do not, in turn, do the same?
Is it even proper of me to ask that of us? I do not know....

Trump's supporters and the party faithful who vote Repub "no matter what" seem to be perfectly OK and fine with this abomination that sits in the White House. They are more than willing to put up with and endure the shame, the embarrassment and the damage to the nation...

Wait, you think they endure or suffer those things? You would be mistaken as you do not know the power of delusion.

There is a family member, who shall remain nameless, that gravitated towards Trump's "Anti PC" BS during the primaries. I convinced them the other choices were preferable to the orange one. They ultimately opposed him in the primaries, and even decided they did not like what Trump was saying or doing. That Trump was not Presidential, not worthy of the office. It did not last.

Fast forward to the general election, and after nightly intake of Fox News propaganda, Trump was suddenly the hero come to save us all. I was surprised and shocked by the turn around, but I do not watch or pay attention to Fox News. You think there is shame felt under the warm blanket of partisan delusion? They have convinced themselves, lead by the brain trust of Fox and Hannity, etc, that Trump is the only one trying to save us. From what? From... everything.

Feeling the shame, embarrassment, and damage are for people in our reality. Trump's supporters are divorced from reality.

I wrote my congresswoman to impeach Trump over the children hostage thing and a few days later heard her on the radio say she would fund the wall if it would make trump stop.

I posted a link to a story about Miller before I saw this. I'm sure that he will have his number changed but at least it's a minor PIA, the best we can do for now.

High last time? You may be high now if you think 2016 was a "high road".

Clinton's camp used the most personal attacks in history, by FAR. Trump dominated the conversation because all people could do in response to him was talk about / down to him. Policy was a side show at best, hardly spoken of or whispered about. This isolated Democrats from the swing voters who were looking to hear something positive about how their vote would improve their lives. That message was not received because of all the hatred and negativity coming from people. The reaction to Trump is what MADE Trump. The 24/7 coverage and polarization gave him the election.

If there is an argument to be made for the "high road" it's that it was NOT taken last time. Plus, going low drives polarization. It forces people to choose sides. Have you set them up, prior, to make a good choice? Thankfully Trump, being Trump, may be all the prep we need to ensure victory in the coming elections. I hope people can see through him now that he is an incumbent and utterly incompetent and contemptible in his behavior. I hope the board is set, because this renewed fervor of venom has the pieces in motion to determine our future, and I'll bet there is no stopping this moment in history where people damn decorum and push against each other, to whatever end.

Please understand that while I do not share your passion, you do have my vote. I do wonder where this all leads.
While I agree with what you are saying, I just want to add that all of Hilary's negative ads I saw were terrible as attack ads. They didn't go after him for not paying people, committing fraud, his bankruptcies, or his complete lack of real policy, they went after him for being an asshole. Everyone already knew he was an asshole and that is specifically why a ton of people voted for him.

The stats also don't show the massive negative campaign the media ran against Hillary. Specifically the right wing media, but even mainstream places would only ask her about her e-mails and other such non-sense as opposed to policy or anything else.

Sounds like serious business.
Go f*ck yourself. Our country is burning, and you're pointing and laughing, shucking and jiving, you smug piece of shit. Go back to fellating Our New Nero while he plays his lying, know nothing, pseudo-populist fiddle.

And, in case the first telegram didn't get through . . . GO F*CK YOURSELF.

Now that Miller's phone number has been deactivated, it would be an ideal opportunity for say, a hacker that wanted to get into his personal email accounts.

I'm certainly not endorsing the commission of a felony, I'm simply pointing out that the opportunity may be there. I really hope he gets all his accounts secured quickly before someone gains access and decides for themselves what might be in the public interest.

You need to chill the hell out mate. When the country actually burns, we won't be complaining about it on the internet from air-conditioned rooms. Look up what members of actual Resistances actually did before you call yourself "the Resistance", particularly if you disavow violence in the same breath.

God help us, you lost an election that you thought was un-loseable. The world goes on. America goes on. You have another chance in 2 years, and a chance to hamstring Trump in 5 months.

Do you sincerely think we will get out of this without some sort of governance/legitimacy/impeachment crisis? I suspect we won’t.

Trump is not simply an incompetent president, we have survived plenty of those before. He is a uniquely dangerous one who is purposefully attacking the institutions of our democratic system to save himself from impeachment and/or prosecution. This is a very real crisis and a very real danger.

All that matters to that fuck is that Trump is supposedly anti abortion. The original one trick pony.

I'd wager I know French history, from the 17th century down unto today, a fair piece better than you do . . . "mate."

So, I have damn well actively joined what we proudly call The Resistance. And I will not forgo my core values -- amongst them being robust citizen political participation sans violence or the juvenile and pointless destruction of property -- as I do.

I have no time for your smug remove from the sidelines, Chief. In conclusion, in direct response to your two last replies to me here, allow me to reiterate with all due emphasis, "GO F*CK YOURSELF!"

Hey, how about a bunch of Congressional Critters leading a march to the doors if the WH, encouraging peaceful demonstrations at detention centers? Maybe some party bigwig making a public announcement directly addressing Nielsen and saying that they WILL be inspecting a facility and get out of their way or the next step is to personally to her office with a lot of unhappy people and maybe every press member they can get? Let's see the WH start arresting people and have it on the news for weeks.

Man, you guys are in for a nasty time when more liberals like Perknose realize that their overtures of fairness and understanding are pointless and you don't need to be reasoned with, you need to be exterminated.

It's still in its early stages, but its coming. Good luck.

The point is that to many of us, Trump is doing real long-term damage. To the institutions, to our standing in the world, to climate change efforts, rolling back important regulations with no regard to the reasons they were put in, furthering the climate of polarity and distrust, he's legitimizing the use of "fake news", etc. The stolen Supreme Court seat will be there long after Trump is gone, as will any "payoff" for these behaviors.

I can live with a GOP President--I'm (I) and could conceivably vote for a moderate one--but his words and actions require a response. Even if that is to get involved with 2018 and 2020 get out the vote efforts, or donate more to GOP opponents.

"Been there done that". That's what the guy with the sword might say.

Trumps's on the ropes now. One or two more strongly worded message board posts ought to do it.

Good job!

Yup over the last decade or so, conservatives have proven to be impossible to compromise with.
For example, Obama’s Supreme Court Guy. Mitch McConnell is asked “what if Obama appoints Garland?” Mitch replied something like Obama wants a liberal judge he doesn’t have the guts to nominate him.
Shortly after that Obama nominates Garland...

The Tea Tards vetoing their own bills when they are put to vote
The whole tax reform we only want to do it in small chunks. Obama says fine we’ll do it in small chunks then nothing but crickets

*warning I’ve forgot the complete story don’t take the above as fact. May not have been Mitch it may have been a senator.
