I love the new Taurus, it's a gorgeous car. I'll take a SHO. Really wish it had an optional 6 speed, though. That'd be hot.

I'm not big on sedans myself, but it is alright. Not so sure about the back end... I'd probably take a Fusion over the Taurus. But I doubt I'd take either as I like my Camaro too much :p

I like it and think it compares pretty darn well against other large sedans. It's definitely a better looking car than the previous Taurus.

Also, why are people throwing around numbers like $40k? It's MSRP starts at $25k and you can most likely get it for less than that right now. Sure, if you want the SHO with all the bells and whistles it will start getting awfully close to $40k but honestly for its specs and features it's still a competitive price. I think that it's partially the fact that its a Ford and people aren't used to thinking about a Ford that competes in this market segment (large, powerful and pretty nice interior). Honestly even with the past history for the Taurus SHO I'm a bit surprised that they didn't make it as a Lincoln just so that people weren't saying "$40k for a Taurus?"

on ATOT we're all millionaires so we wouldn't bother getting a taurus if we're not getting the SHO.

and an ecoboost MKS is nearly 50K msrp. save 10 grand and get 10 more horsepowers? sounds like a deal to me. you could almost buy a fiesta with the savings and have yourself a city car.

Not an awful car, but seriously at that price range( Tauraus Limited / Tauraus SHO price range)? I'd rather have a BMW, if not then a Cadillac, if not then an Infinit, if not then a Lexus.. Ford is the last company I would consider a big buy from. At least the others have some well established RWD performance sedans as opposed to this thing, but that's just my personal take on it.

Why would someone spend $40,000 on a ford? :\

I like fords but in the $10 - $25,000 range

The Ford "Edge" is easily 30k+ and is selling pretty well, and appears to be holding it's value too. Ford has turned a corner somewhat. I would actually choose a SHO Taurus over any Lincoln Sedan IMO. It looks great. I actually wouldn't mind test-driving one to see how it stacks-up against a A6 or G35/G37 sedan. Its a great car for the price with the power and amenities it comes with.

They did..................... the car is basically identical to the Lincoln MKS.

It's actually kind of funny.

If you get the lowest priced MKS out there you are paying about ~4k more for a slightly toned down SHO.

At the higher price ranges the MKS luxury can really shine out, but you are missing 10hp off the SHO.

Wonder if you can flash that in? I am guessing you can as it seems to be just a few tweaks they added.

Yeah, Ford is treading a fine line when it comes to eating into their luxury segment. It's a really tough set of decisions.

If I were making the buy there the only two things the MKS has that you can't get on the SHO are the executive trim and the THX sound system. Only one I'd miss is the THX sound system. Looks wise I like them both, with just a little edge to the MKS.
