I am not saying we should not retaliate, I am just saying not in the way that everyone here is suggesting. The world tried to prevent any further problems from Germany after WWI by stripping the country of its identity, both economically and socially, and look what that resulted in, Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party. The more we see ourselves as some unstoppable force that can bully everyone through military, the more we are setting ourselves up for failure.

i am saddend for your loss that took place on 9/11. i personally believe that justice will be served in one way or another. however, i am also disappointed at the response this thread has received. yes, part of me is relieved to hear of our retaliation with special forces, but at the same time, i do NOT think that bigalt deserves all the flaming that you guys are giving him. loss of life is loss of life, bar none. be it a terrorist in afghanistan, or a passenger on an airplane. i am angered with recent events just as many of you are. at first, my mind ran through all of the things i would do to bin laden if i got my hands on him, but i realize that it is that VERY SAME hate that caused him to do what he did. "send nukes!" everyone here says... how is that going to make us any better? no, dont give me any "it will wipe them all out!!!" response. yes, it will, but you are talking about wiping out the innocent along with the guilty. the majority of the US, it seems, is not looking for JUSTICE as much as it is looking for VENGEANCE. i fully support my country (america, before any smarta$$ decides to accuse me of being an afghan), but i think we need to count the potential cost of our upcoming actions before another 5,000 of us pay the price.

i realize that i am going to get flamed like bigalt for saying all this, but you cannot deny the fact that their innocents are no more deserving of death than ours were. most likely, there will be posts following mine accusing me of being a 5 year old and that i am a $%&#ing idiot. if you are one of those people that are going to flame like that, then dont bother to post here because it already tells me that you are incapable of carrying on an intelligent discussion.

Ok I have no problem with anything you said. It's not nearly the same as how bigalt presented himself. He made himself sound like one of the spoiled anti-war-at-any-cost brats that do nothing but cause trouble. I am behind this operation 100%, and while I do not condone the killing of innocent Afghans, it's a reality that is going to happen. It's not our fault, if the Taliban had behaved in a civilized manner and shut down the training camps and turned over the militant factions, there wouldnt be any civilian casualties. They are starving their own people to keep these al-Qaeda groups safe. Anyone living on American soil, and still spouting anti-war crap is a fool, and I WILL put you in your place if you say such stupid things to my face. Millions of other Americans will do the same. The people saying NUKE NUKE are just venting, you and I both know our government would never use another nuclear weapon unless it was ABSOLUTELY necessary, so that entire argument is moot.
The bottom line, and the point I was trying to make to the obviously young bigalt, was that there are millions of Americans out there who will physically harm you if you let that crap out of your mouth at the wrong place. It's a warning.
