Yep, elections are in a few days and they love to see that Sharon is "tough on terror". For him whats a few more lives to garner some more much needed votes for his weakened likud party which currently may not have enough support to create a stable government. It also may be his last chance to kill some more palestinians so it looks like he's trying to go out with a smile.

  • "Sunday's rocket attack, the third in three days, came after the Israeli army said its forces went into a Gaza City neighborhood for several hours in a major anti-terror sweep.

    Palestinian sources said at least 12 Palestinian men were killed and at least 65 others were wounded, six critically.

    That action, which Israel called "defensive," came after Palestinians fired as many as 10 rockets and mortar shells from Gaza at cities in southern Israel on Friday and Saturday."

I agree with Hagbard. It is very obvious contrary what many Israeli supporters think on this site. You know who you are.
Israeli state sponsored terrorism is nothing more than the common terror that an individual would perform. You have these soldiers firing machine guns into crowds of people and cant be classified with anything else.

Those attacks are in response to Sharons militancy and murdurous incursions into the palestinian areas. You may not value their lives (like sharon) but others do. As long as they israel continues to illegally maintain (and especially develop) the occupied territories, they will face hostility from the palestinians. Even most israelis are in favor of withdrawing from those lands. As for Israels lives lost, they don't hold a candle to the innocent palestinian lives lost.
