Obama understands that America is worth more than Zionist Israel, England, and France combined. We will not engage anyone in the middle east for the sake of Israel while he is in office. He understands the big picture.

Israel also understand the big picture.

The US and the UN are not going to put a stop to the harassment and threats.

Again, Israel will have to deal with it own her own

wow, saw on live tv on the BBC that a palestinian spokesman is blaming a sneak attack on israel. killing peaceful protesters (his versions at least)
Hamas continually kept sent rockets into Israel; trying to take advantage of the situation with Syria.

Then they are surprised that Israel finally says enough is enough.

This is the standard MO for Hamas and Hezbollah; poke at Israel until Israel responds and then cry that they are the victim.

And their supporters will rail against disproportional use of force.

10/1 Hamas will not learn the lesson and this will escalate more before the end of the month.

World never really notices anyhow unless Israel goes in with the Army.

Also, the world also knows that Hamas has been poking, so the sympathy from neutral nations will not exist.

While Abbas has to support Gaza, it also screws up his political plans to present the Palestinians as a peace loving people in front of the UN for formal membership.

I would really..in my lifetime like to see this shit end.

A more realistic wish would be in your child or grandchild's lifetime.

But hey the Berlin Wall fell, and the Irish stopped killing each other and ended up with a booming economy (until the collapse) so again is possible.

do you understand what Israel would (not could ) do if the US did not retain some influence.

Drop the aid and
1) You will screw your political support in the US
2) The opposition to Israel will get bold enough to think that Israel is weakened
3) Israel will no longer pay attention to the UN/US requested for restraint.
4) You will see the same results in Gaza when as what happened in Lebanon. Hamas will get rolled up into the Egyptian border. Then Egypt can decide to open the floodgates and let Hamas escape or the Hamas military wing will go down in flames. In the process; Gaza will get flattened. The the Palestinian lovers can provide supplies to Gaza that has had their urban area demolished.

LL, SE and other Palestinian supporters may claim differently; that the world will intervene. That will not happen until Hamas in Gaza does not exist. It wil also send a nasty message to Abbas and the West Bank.

There is a problem with assassinating foreign nationals outside of Israel's borders.

So far Israel has gotten away with it, but its still way outside the conduct of civilized nations.

What an incredibly stupid thing to say. Which starts out with the assumption that Israel is nuts and its the job of the US to keep Israel rational.

Don't worry your pretty little head about it EK, if Israel wants to act the psychotic nuts, about 2 nukes would be all it takes to fix Israel's wagon.

As EK argument also boils down to blackmail, if you don't let me have what ever I want, I will throw a temper tantrum.

Hamas indiscriminately shoots rockets at civilian population centers. Considering that Israel could easily crush Hamas if they wanted, I'm surprised that their response has been as restrained as it has.

Sorry. My sympathy for Palestinian militants dried up a long time ago.

Killing the people shooting the rockets does nothing. Kill the suppliers of the rockets first. Follow the money.
