LOL. how desperate.

And the other half don't have cell phones, I wonder who the Israelis are trying to impress with there twitter taunting?
I think this is at least somewhat of a false flag for that reason and also due to the fact that the current State of Israel created Hamas (similarly to how the U.S. gov created Al-Qaida) and now it's coming to bite them in the ass. The States of Israel and America can't decide whether they want to ally with their creations or against them... the fact that the U.S. Federal Republic and the current State of Israel are being so irrational is a good indication that at least one of them is about to collapse. I currently (as I type this) wager the U.S. govt will collapse first but this current state of Israel will collapse eventually... about half the Israelis can't stand Netanyahu's policies.

The fact that Ben Netanyahu is trying to run things doesn't help bring rationality to the middle east either... the fact that he's so emotional means he lacks the ability to plan ahead like he wants to, if he even knows what he wants. Also note that I'm not trying to trash him, he's helped me realize why I should never be a leader.

In your world there are only two scenarios: Israel never causes collateral damage/kills civilians or Palestine lies about it? Actually that's just one.

Israel attempts to minimize collateral damage.

Palestinians attempt to maximize it.

Am sorry, I needed to clarify the real world to you.
Most on the board have the level of understanding to see that.:colbert:

From SE POV, it is OK for Israel to be shot at, but to return the favor is unacceptable.

Israel is not the Christian nation - they believe in an eye for an eye concept.
Same as the Muslims.

If the Palestinians do not want the fight; then do not climb into the ring.

Or since SE claims to be a smart Indian - Pakistan is a smaller country than India - any reason why India should complain about Pakistan shooting at it. Same concept.
Little guy standing up to the big bully in the area!

Folks here are on both sides of this war, and if we were neighbors we'd be fighting it ourselves. The crowd you're speaking to would gladly be the ones launching rockets at you. Got nothing to do with level of understanding.

Well Israel has every reason to be desperate, they're in danger of losing this conflict aren't they? Oh wait...

Who is shooting missiles at our forces?

Let Israel fine tune the technology first

They're shooting rockets at our forces every day. I've had a dozen of them land within 300 meters of me in the past 7 months. Bagram gets hit with rockets virtually every day.

Great article. I didn't realize the Israeli's were preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza. Also, I don't understand why the US helped develop the wildly successful Iron Dome system, but then didn't put any into service with our own forces. It's much better than anything we have.

Iron Dome may work well with the older short-range rockets Hamas is firing, but will it be effective against modern missile tech?

Social Media - Propaganda had to move there eventually. Its working brilliantly. My Facebook feed is flooded with IDF crap.

Its a battle royale between those stupid meme generator pics and IDF crap.

I knew that mortars were happening. Did not realize that rockets were.

Seek and destroy apparently will be offsenive to the local politicians and governments?

Because there aren't people in Tijuana lobbing low-grade missiles at San Diego?

The iron dome is great for a very narrowly defined mission: protecting civilians from a low-tech, fixed position enemy. It's not really well suited for anything else.

I'm not sure. No one with modern missile technology seems likely to go to war with Israel in the next 50 years though, so it's not much of a concern.

Yeah, 107mm rockets are extremely common. They don't have the proper launchers though, so they improvise by propping the tube on rocks, branches, etc. We always get shot at from the same location. They fire off two rockets then skedaddle before the Kiowas or Apaches come on station.

We're well beyond the point where coalition forces are allowed to run unilateral missions (the Afghan government keeps a tally of unilateral actions and throws it in GEN Allen's face every month,) and the Afghans aren't capable of stopping the rockets.

They should start by bombing Iran.

Where exactly are the rockets coming from?

Who is paying for the Rockets?

What route are they using to deliver the Rockets?

When one side targets civilians, then the other side should do the same thing. We did the same thing in WWII

While such might seem reasonable as a tit for tat; Israel has the ability to eliminate the militants without going after the true civilians.

The issue was will they pull back under diplomatic pressure regarding civilian causalities; try to avoid the causalities as the Twitter is attempting; and/or device to clean house once and for all. Multiple times Hamas has made promises; everytime it has been just an attempt to rearm.
Israel to solve the Gaza/Hamas issue, needs to push the rats down the holes and seal the hole.

Hezbollah got brave after seeing Israel not respond to Hamas poking and tried to pull some stunts. It ended up backfiring but at cost to both sides.

As long as Israel plays the rules of the Western world; she will win but at serious cost. This conflict is a microscopic view of the overall Western vs Islam military battle ground.

She needs to be careful of civilians but stop giving quarter to the militants.
