It's pointless to argue Israel's merits for bombing.

Unless they nuke Gaza into oblivion, they might as well be dropping candy from their warplanes. Conventional bombs are like seeds; you might kill a few Hamas militants, but a new one will always sprout up to replace them.

So how do you suggest they stop the terrorist from shooting rockets at them and blowing themselves up to kill civilians?

Dismantling Israel and giving the land back to the people who original lived there would be a good start.

Thinking like this will not get to peace. It's as rational as killing a few hundreds Hamas and there will be peace. Israel isn't going anywhere, vice versa, killing a few militants just create more.

Killing a few militants and a few innocents... just makes more innocents..

I wonder what the ratio is or should be.. For every 4 innocents killed they create one more militant?

I am now inspired, I shall drive my truck to the nearest school playground, catch the kiddies and teachers by surprise, and run them all down under my wheels. A new educational meaning to dodge ball.

I am sick and tired of paying taxes to support the education of someone Else's rug rats, just kill them all so I can have it my way.

After all, how many elementary students happen to have their own pickup truck to oppose me? Get a clue, might makes right. Never give a sucker an even break. Punish the innocent is my mantra.

But none of it will be complete, if I do not record it on camera, in an orgy of killing, I can relive every glorious second on camera.

Much like the Crips claim that blacks are their "people".

When you speak of 'original' exactly how original do you mean??

Historically the Jews were there LONG before the Arab Palestinians, and we are talking about a few thousand years.

Since then that area has been ruled by every empire to come along.

Perhaps we should turn it over to the Italians? (Roman Empire)
Or the Turks? (Byzantine and Ottoman Empires)
The Macedonians? (Alexander the Great)
The Iranians? (Persian Empire)
The British since they were the last to rule there?

The Jews, who have lived there for 3000+ years, have as much claim to the area as the Arab Palestinians who arrived around 661.

He was probably referring to how Hamas views its citizens. Constant stream of aggression eventually leads to this type of response (nothing like putting everybody in harms way)....and yet people are still surprised and appalled.

Those 'fireworks' are created by the endless rockets that Hamas launched at Israel and has been launching for months and months.

Notice that 6 month cease fire was not ended by Israel, buy by Hamas.

It's a little like blaming the Native Americans for slaughtering Custer, for bringing down upon themselves the retribution that followed.

Nice find OP, thanks.

No point in arguing which side is right or wrong in this thread.

20%-25% civilian casualties per the U.N., but anyone who prescribes to 'another' viewpoint equates that to the "majority of innocent Palestinians". Of those that still have the right to free speech, I'd tell the others to stuff it. 40 years of 'atrocities' and the all-powerful Israel hasn't killed off everyone? I guess it's Allah's will if the Mosque with secondary explosions is filmed, huh?

I still can't find Palestine on my map.

Do "casualties" mean dead or wounded?

As kierd resolves, that "I still can't find Palestine on my map.", he has unerringly gotten to the root of the conflict.

Because the just and the rational realize both Israelis and Palestinians are on the same map, and denying one or the other is irrational. And even more stupid is the assumption that we can ignore the rights of one group to the exclusion of the rights of the other group.

Or maybe it's because it's not on the map.

Aren't you supposed to be killing children?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the totally clueless keird misses quite obvious sarcasm and asks, " Aren't you supposed to be killing children?"

And then goes on to assert the total fallacy that anything but his own biased standards of fairness are on the map. Simply not the case.

But I will point out in my own sarcasm, no real children have been harmed, I just wish I could say the same for many Gaza Palestinians who are being butchered for the sins of the not controlling their extremists.

In the grand scheme of things, I should ask, because I did not take proactive action to assassinate GWB&co, should I be bombed for not stopping an almost certain international war criminal?

The other point being keird, my same external standards of justice lead me to support the right of the State of Israel to exist, but at the same time, those same standards of external justice lead me to question current Israeli conduct.

There is no conflict in that above position unless you are biased.

Do you think the Palestinians are angry for fun? How would you like it if you were displaced from your home and moved into refugee camps? Most of these "settlers" are nuts anyway. They are imported Jews given free housing and a machine gun to claim the land. Those settlers are the biggest right wing nutbags I've ever seen. They make our right wing fundies in this country look like angels.

Anyway, the only way to solve this mess is to create an independent state for Palestine. Give them some land. Draw some lines on a map. Put the UN in between and move on. There will always be some hostility but at least the senseless violence will cease for the most part. Israel is not winning anything right now by lobbing missiles and suffocating them from food and medicine. They are creating more and more upset people who will be willing to blow themselves up for the cause.

They had a state. They then used that state to launch an attack on Israel, multiple times in fact, and they finally lost their state in one of the wars because Israel was tired of the Arabs trying to wipe them off the map.

Go study your history books.

If both sides stopped their aggressions in a cease fire, who would be the first ones to break that cease fire? As history has shown us, its those Palestinian idiots. I say bomb them, and bomb them good.

After the enormous peaceful success ( ) that was letting the palestinians control their own independent state in Gaza, I'm not so sure Israel is really in a mood to try again. You are however absolutely correct in stating that the UN needs to be doing more here.
