Well that is a hell of an idea, the Arab have been bitching about Israel for years, why can't they seize every ship heading for an Israeli port. Some of the cargo is bound to be weapons that Israelis will use on them, as for everything else, seize it anyway as a weapon of war. Surely if Israel has one international law experts, the Arab world with 50x the population can find at least 50 Arab experts to self grant the Arabs the right to seize Israeli bound ships in international waters.

And while we are at it, lets grant Israel the right to seize ships of all nations in international waters, after all, can we be sure their cargo will not fall into evil uses?

But the one thing we cannot possibly do is appeal to a world court or the UN, because the UN has already said, the Israeli blockade of Gaza has no legitimate basis. Making it quite clear, that only Israel has a right to make these determinations regarding international shipping in international waters. Without even the Israeli bother of formally declaring war against another nation.

Or should we just call it what it is, an act of Israeli piracy on the high seas.

If nothing else, Israel proved might makes right and the actual seizure of the ship is already accomplished.

The real question is what happens thereafter. I imagine all kinds of protests will be filed in international bodies of law. Israel may end up having to return the ship and cargo, lose all of their self presumed right to make further seizures in international waters, not because of just that one seizure, but as a serial abuser of international law.

Will this one incident be the final straw, probably not, but the day is coming when Israeli paranoia will lose all remaining Israeli cred in the world.

And as the USA loses all credibility in the Arab world, some other less Israeli friendly nation will be brokering Israeli Palestinian peace negotiations, and they are far less likely to cut either side any slack. And as a bottom line, if Israeli leadership is unable or unwilling to tell their crazed settlers parties no more settlement in disputed land, then a overwhelming coalition of other nations will tell the settlers to get back on their side of the border.

I find it incredible that you think arming these people is okay when an advanced military force will crush any opposition. The Palestinians have lost their land.
