Czar is full of hate for people who don't think like he does.
All that matters is that most Afghanis don't hate America.
But on the global scale people liking the US as a whole is not an issue, it is the biggest authority of each country that matters the most.
Your last two sentences are very valid. There are always good and bad things everyone does, but lately the bad things have been stacking up very fast and it seems that the US government doesnt want to listen to anyone even if they are from the US itself, that anoyes people alot when a country is so arrogant.
Foreign news agencies are run by the governemtn, therefore biased. hel, in Iraq, they teach that the Holocaust never happened! It's just a big lie according to schools in Iraq. F IRAQ

I never made the statement that you made so it is not incumbent on me to search for anything. I really am not all that concerned with trying to figure out whether my country is liked or not based on the results of a google or yahoo search. All I can say is that in my travels abroad I have been accorded the same respect that I give to other people. It really is immaterial whether or not we share political views as to whether or not I like someone. Most people in this world spend most of their time worrying about their lives and not what various countries are up to unless it has some direct effect on their daily lives ie running civilian passenger jets into skyscrapers full of people going about their lawful business.

Some problems I have with ideas expressed here. "The US is going into Iraq to stop the production of WMD." We are going for a regiem change remember. "The world likes doesn't like us, we're more good than bad." Whatever the world's opinion of os generally they don't like our Iraq unilateralism. It is important to correct faults and not bask on ones laurels. One can like and be critical. The inability to hear criticism as other than attack is dangerous.

this is exactly how it works, on the international political scale the US and quite big number of other countries are not doing it.
Everyone is judged by their actions, when I meet someone for the first time I dont know them and I will not judge them for actions of others, getting to know them is the only way. Governments are the same, you can only judge them from their actions.
When people dislike a government then its not the same as disliking the public.

Getting back to the subject of the post, no, it's not hypocritical. The US and Russia/USSR have played these games for years!Russia knows the US is going to go inot Iraq eventually and take out Saddam...........Russia wants something in return for allowing this and this is simple manuevering. This has worked in both directions for both countries since shortly after WWII..................tit for tat!

Russia is just being sensable. They could as easily have go to the UN to get approval for an attack on the US because we harbor weapons of mass destruction and have used them even on our own people.

The introduction to the Declaration of Independence is merely a statement that, prior to a group taking unilateral action with intranational repercussions, the reasons and evidence should be presented first (hence the "declaration"). The analogy of U.S. withdrawal from the United Nations isn't appropriate until that evidence is made public.
Although I suppose Moonbeam was really just trying to emphasize the notion that opinions critical of the United States government get shot down pretty quickly as anti-American, even though criticism of the government is not always rooted in subversion.

Well we are kind of beating the proverbial dead horse here. I do not live in a small country so I do not have the vantage of your view of us but you would have to grant that likewise you do not have our view either. All I can tell you is that based on my view of my countries past actions I believe that by and large we have been a positive force in the world. When we finished WWII we did not take territory as tribute but rather attempted to help our former enemies and allies alike recover. It is my hope that when we are finished in Afghanistan we will do that as well. Sometimes unpopular choices have to be made and it is my belief that dealing with Iraq or with terrorists the choice is exactly that. History will ultimately be the judge of whether we chose wisely.
The Marshal plan is definetly the best thing the US has ever done to help the world, along with the wonderful NASA
But I dont see any chance of that happening again with either Afghanistan or Iraq as long as Bush is the president because he has said that starting a democracy in Iraq was a problem of the International community but not that of the US.
Wrong Moonbeam. The reasoning behind action in Iraq is the breaking by Iraq of the UN resolutions and the treaties it signed during its surrender after the Gulf War. Not the same thing as just having WMD. If it was just about WMD, more than half the world would be at war.
