I thought Bruce Wayne was quite the philantopist. Exactly how much of his wealth are you expecting him to give up? It sounds like you wouldn't be satisfied unless he gave it all up which would then mean Batman couldnt' exist. And Gotham was at its most corrupt and worse when everyone thought he(Bruce) was dead(when he ran away).

I'm simply saying that the way that most people become super-rich is through corruption or underhanded business practices. If you look at the list of super-rich throughout the world many come from corrupt 3rd world hellholes where the ruling class siphons off money from the average man. I'm talking people like Ferdinand Marco in the Philippines. And Bruce Wayne is definitely super rich, maybe the richest person in Gotham.

well, criminality is in large part a result of desperation, no? If conditions in Gotham are so bad that there is a crime wave, then yes, I do think that Bruce Wayne by being this crazy rich playboy billionnaire contributes to the desperation. After a certain point, wealthy interests become so entrenched that the small guy simply cannot compete against them, and many turn to crime.

If you are indirectly arguing for wealth redistribution to those who have not earned it, then this thread belongs in P&N.

Stop excusing criminal behavior as "desperation." It's bunk with a few correlations and yet this whole thread assumes significant causation.

he kills. the dark knight was pretty violent. the only person he REFUSES to kill is the Joker. wich i agree is fucking stupid. Even the Joker asked batman why he doesn't kill him. it would save thousands of lives. The joker wen ton to say that If batman dies he will retire and go into hideing and not kill another person. So one of the two must die to save thousands. even then the batman said he won't kill him.

but he kills others. its fucking insane.

Are you sure about that? :colbert:

I thought the entire premise of (modern) Batman is that he doesn't kill anyone, and is strictly non-lethal, which obviously requires a ton more skill and finesse..

Huh? The guy at the top of the list is from Mexico...........near the top of the 'shit hole' country list - who got his wealth through government abuse.

Gaddafi was said to have an estimated net worth of $200 BILLION.

#6 on the list, India, another shit hole.
#8 Brazil, total shit hole
#9 India

40% of the top 10 are from complete shit holes.

while they don't show him flat out killing people some of the stuff is going to kill them.

In on one of the last comics he was fighting guys with metal plates over there mouth. the then makes a passing subway car into a giant magnet and all of them are then attached to it while it passes and there is a tunnel in the distance.

it's not like say Wolverine comics that show him actually killing. but in no way would i say he does not kill.
