My ACR comes from the factory lowered even more than the stock SRT4. 1.5" all the way around cus of smaller wheels and lowered strut perch. It`s already pretty low stock and lowering it even more would mean scraping even more than I already do. We have really crappy roads and freeways here in LA. Too many damn trucks.

Lowered 1.5" all around, didn't have any trouble last winter. Only scraped at one underground parking lot, but I scrape there in my 97 maxima too.

Not bad. I bet that things underrated too. I'm sure it makes for a fun ride.

Not under-rated at all. I dyno'd 172 whp with I/E mods.

Car weighed in at roughly 3100lbs and had a great chasis. Was a blast for the 7yrs and 80K miles I put on it.

My current car is lowered 10mm as it came with the Aero kit.

I got in on one of Tanabe's R&D sessions and walked away with free NF210s, Front Tower Bar, and Medalion Touring exhuast for my Yaris hatchback.

This is my Yaris @ Tanabe:

Looks good to me.

Not knocking you since it was their R&D stuff but a strut bar with bolt points on it is fail. It's supposed to be all welded together so it doesn't move as a strut bar isn't supposed to move at all.

Yeah, all of us on this Yaris forum I visit agree that the front strut bar is pointless, but it was free so I'm not complaining.

I do like the NF210s though. After getting home from the R&D session, I got some cheap wheels to replace the stock steelies.

I just need to get the windows tinted now since it's starting to get very hot around here.

No, and never will lower a car. I don't want to slow down to drive over railroad tracks or potholes.

It angers me so much when I see pickup trucks hauling nothing slow down for railroad tracks. I don't understand this at all.

Also, how do you guys deal with speed bumps? A few of the newer ones at a local mall are pretty big. Anything shorter than 6 inches would be torn right off. You can insert a penis joke somewhere, but I'm mostly talking about your muffler.

Kind of defeats the point of a truck doesn't it...

depends on the purpose of the truck. my friends dad took an older dualie, built up a monster engine with a full time blower, lowered the suspension and put street slicks on the back instead of the dual tires. that sucker would roast most things he came across. id say the purpose of that truck was all speed, and having it sitting up higher would be a detriment to its purpose. its purpose up to that point had been "rust creator", so i think it was a good decision. :D

my truck is all stock, but looks lowered since i need new shocks. i do think the guy i got it from had leveled it out tho, it sits dead straight. i like it. havent seen a decline in usefulness tho, i can still carry 1200 or so pounds (electrical gear) in it without much trouble. engine is getting tired tho, working on refreshing that part now.

You need new springs, not new shocks.

Looks a million times better with the new wheels.

I never bothered with my lowered car.
Only if it was real bad.. Which I still do in a car with stock suspension. Otherwise I drive it like I normally would.

I slow down for speed bumps and railroad tracks more than I would in a non-lowered car, but my springs are significantly stiffer than stock, 2.5x at max (progressive rate), and even then my drop isn't too extreme at only 1.5", so it works out well.

My car (pictured) has a sport suspension that is 15mm lower than the non-sport version. I wouldn't really want a lower car, since it already scrapes in some situations (like the end of my GF's alley).

just finished today, eibach sportlines on koni yellows

im rubbing passenger front even with shocks at full stiff, so I will probably increase a perch all around (not digging tucking in the rear)

Your shock adjustment will not affect ride height.

It might.

It wont.

Only changing springs or adjusting perch height is going to raise or lower the car. All the shock adjustment does is change the internal valve opening to control how firm or squishy the dampening is, it doesn't alter any physical dimension. It's still going to settle to the same rest height and have the same range of bump travel.

A strut on the other hand, if it has spacers on the shaft above and below the upper mount, you can add or remove bump travel (effectively changing the length of the strut and setting the starting point for full droop), but it's still the spring that determines final ride height.

It will affect bounce or travel, wont it? More stiff it is the less it can travel and rub less on the bumps

Bounce/travel is determined by the range of motion that the shock telescopes before bottoming out and stopping at the top and bottom bump stops, regardless of spring.

The spring length is dynamic and subject to unknown forces, the shock travel is absolute and the upper limit on your travel.

Well, I know the Koni Yellows I had on my previous Accord had 3 perch heights.. I thought he was going to be changing those. If not, then yes, it won't change height. I figured you were talking about the perch settings previously.

Ah. Koni only makes inserts for my car -- no adjustable perch..just the shock itself.
