Well, I know the Koni Yellows I had on my previous Accord had 3 perch heights.. I thought he was going to be changing those. If not, then yes, it won't change height. I figured you were talking about the perch settings previously.

Yeah I was going to go up a perch, I think he was just responding to me "even at stiffest" statement

If you haven't yet, I'd strongly recommend you try running the shocks at full soft and then increasing from there to see where you like them. I run mine about a half turn up from full soft, and the car drives wonderfully without jarring your fillings out. :)

Ditto the recommendation. I run my coilovers at 5.. max is 10. 5 is already pretty stiff.

Nice Miata, Sulaco.. are those RE-30s?

A lot of people say the first thing you should do with a Corvette is lower it. I don't understand how it would even by drivable if it were any lower.

On another note, I saw an F-250 diesel truck lowered almost as low as my Z06 (stock). What the hell the point of that is I'll never know.

I somehow think that Z06 is wasted.

There probably is absolutely no reason to lower a Z06, or most sports cars. The difference in center of gravity is minute, and you give up useful things like suspension travel, suspension suppleness, and of course ground clearance. The wishbones on the Z06, like a Miata, are probably set up so that the tires lean into a corner as the vehicle leans, so traction actually improves with more suspension travel.

So I'm going to have to agree with snipe, lowering a Z06 is stupid.

You are talking camber affects.

Most proper suspension setups eliminate that mostly. Proper suspension setups (unlike lowering springs) usually keep the same 'travel' as well.

Well if the vehicle is lower and the tires are the same diameter, how can you maintain enough travel unless the stock suspension was over-bumpstopped?

You are confusing stock full travel with proper full travel. Most stock cars have far too much travel. Most improperly lowered cars have far too little.

I can blast over a rail road crossing and not bottom out while 'stock' cars have to slow to prevent bouncing all over the place.

As an aside to this with a stock / typical lowering spring setup, camber changes dramatically usually during travel. With a proper setup, camber stays pretty static in relation to the road.

Most aren't looking at all this though, they are looking to lower for aesthetics, not in order to turn lap times.

Well on my miata I'm using aftermarket top hats and bump stops. I probably have more travel now with my car lowered than I did stock.

You can think what you want, but if I lowered it there would be a garage spot wasted. That would be due to parking in the street since I wouldn't be able to get into my driveway. The clearance lost would make driving it a total pain in the ass just making sure the front end didn't get ripped off.

Well this is why they make corvettes ride so high from the factory...they are catered to those that want to drive a sports car like their hondas.

If I pull forward to slam my front tires into most parking curbs, I'd have majorly scuffed my front bumper. Most with even stock height sports would have at least their detachable lower lips (which are why they started making them detachable) torn off.

Mine is lowered as far as it can go on the factory bolts... it equates to about 3/4-1inch inch all the way around (I can loosely fit 3 fingers between the tire and fender).

You have to remember that a z06 or any corvette isn't like a normal car. EVERYTHING is tucked in under the car. What you see on the side where the rocker panel is, is the ground clearance you have (and yes I am aware of the plastic wind flap on the bottom of the front bumper).

stock height on a z06 would do the same... hell my 07 TL would do the same too!

I don't even know if the Konis I put on lowered me at all. I never checked or measured. I think I crunch less than I used to. Also, I finally fixed that removable stupid front spoiler under my bumper that hung low on one side for... 8 years. It bolts on with 4 bolts, and was torn at the far bolt on one side. I shoved it into place with a washer on the bolt to hold the torn out hole area. YEAHHHHH. YEAHHHHHHH!!!

This thread is the perfect example of half of the car world talking about performance and the other half talking about cup holders. I love it.
