That's just it. We suck until you look at everybody else. Then, we're awesome!

Someone was trying to tell me how bad the United States sucks, and I asked who was better? Every country has numerous faults because they're created by human beings, and 99% have more faults than the United States. The ones who don't have as many are that way because they are directly or indirectly sheltered by the military we pay for.

Wow. No, no, a thousand times no.

The one on the right gets tortured and perhaps killed if she refuses to dress that way. The one on the left would have a slightly harder time finding a boyfriend if she showed a little less skin. There are a whole shitload of women in western society who can achieve great things and find incredible success without bowing to the gods of body image. Women can and do say screw the system and get ahead on their talents, find men thanks to their brains and the personalities, make billions without displaying a hint of cleavage. Show me a woman in Iran or Iraq or Syria who says screw the system, ditches Islam and tries to make her way with sex appeal. If you find even one her funeral will be tomorrow.

And I like how you tie faults to military protection, like that has anything to do with anything but budgets and some aspects of culture. Yeah every country has its problems, but to say that 99% of them are worse than the US and the other 1% is only riding our coattails is pure Jingoistic idiocy that is best left to the Cold War.

And where were those pictures taken? A woman who escapes from that area in order to be free to flash a little skin only proves my point and makes you more delusional. If you want to validate your misconceptions please link to a woman walking down the street in Damascus or Tehran in a miniskirt, not a woman of Syrian or Iranian origin wearing one in California.

So we have a "Presidential system"? That is probably the worst generalization of our governmental system that I've ever seen. Same category as Chile?

Yes, same category as Chile. Pretty much exactly the same as Chile, the only difference is that they do it while managing to be slightly less corrupt. America, Fuck Yeah!! Staring up at Chile's ass.

Chile's government is a representative democratic republic, whereby the President of Chile is both head of state and head of government, and of a formal multi-party system that in practice behaves like a two-party one, due to binomialism. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of the National Congress. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature of Chile.

I have heard people claim outright that western culture is better than anything else. Do we do things the better way? We are the most educated, most sophisticated, most resourceful, most powerful, richest, most technologically advanced civilization ever, right? So is western culture the best?

And what do you think is the obvious reality to this question?

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Whether yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Everything is beautiful in it's own way
Like a starry summer night
Or a snow covered winter's day

And everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's Heaven
The world's gonna find a way
There is none so blind
As He who will not see
We must not close our minds
We must let our thoughts be free
For every hour that passes by
You know the world gets a little bit older
It's time to realize that beauty lies
In the eyes of the beholder

And everything is beautiful in it's own way
Like a starry summer night
Or a snow covered winter's day,

Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's Heaven
The world's gonna find a way
We shouldn't care about the length of His hair
Of the color of His skin
Don't worry about what shows from without
But the love that lives within
And we're gonna get it all together now
Everythings gonna work out fine
Just take a little time to the look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind

And everything is beautiful in it's own way
Like a starry summer night
Or a snow covered winter's day,

Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's Heaven
The world's gonna find a way,

And everything is beautiful in it's own way
Like a starry summer night
On a snow covered winter's day

To take your questions individually:
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.

For one reason: we are shameless in stealing other people's ideas and incorporating them into our culture when we see that they work better than what we had.

We had the sandwich. We saw the burrito. The burrito is better than the sandwich so we adopted the burrito.
This, exactly. No whining about how we've never had the burrito or how the sandwich was good enough for our fathers or how if G-d wanted us to have burritos he would have had the Prophet order us to make them. Just incorporate the damned burrito.

That's really American culture though; European culture is probably no more so than other cultures. Where Western culture really shines is in promoting individual liberty.
