is vista worth the upgrade

No, but many years still. Or transition to another os entirely. Or ms can get their crap together and I'd actually upgrade and maybe even transition my work systems...though I doubt it.

I've been running it for a couple weeks and am pretty happy with it. I don't think I'd pay huge price for Ultimate though.

MSDN FTW!

I'm going to upgrade, because I'll get it for free.

I used to think that XP wasn't worth the upgrade, but then I went back to Windows 2000 for a while and I missed some of the little improvements in XP.

XP PRO suits my needs and wants as of now. Why would I throw more money at Microsoft for some bells and whistles that I don't even need?

People that say they aren't going to upgrade are lying to themselves, and to the world. 😛

RLY?

I hope never to buy another Windows, the only thing I want it for is games anyway. Two things could happen. 1 - it could become possible to play games on Linux. 2 - PC gaming could die and I could buy a console. Both are quite likely IMO.

I'm gonna go ahead and give it some more time. I don't really have the free time/motivation right now to sit in front of my PC for hours on end to re-set up all my programs, learn a new OS, etc. etc. etc...

liars...all of you. I bet most of you are running XP now. It'll be the same somewhere down the line once vista comes out.

History repeats itself again and again and again.

Give it a year or two, tops. Everybody here will be running Vista with maybe a couple of exceptions, and we'll all be clammoring over how much better it is than XP.

Eventually when I buy another Computer from Dell in the distant future that has the hardwarethat can run it. I'm in no big hurry though as what I have serves me well.
