Heat is a virtually unused byproduct of cars.

i use it whenever its cold, as do many people, i think it gets a fair amount of use...

so esentially I use the AC all the time even in the winter.

Whos bright idea was it to run the AC in the middle of the winter if you have snow and stuff on the outside of your windshield?

the ACs evaporator removes moisture from the air BEFORE it is heated so the defrost air is DRY. This really assists in clearing the INSIDE of the windscreen. The heat comes from the burning of petrol in the engine.

It also helps if the inside of the windscreen is clean, as dirt holds on to moisture like the devil............:)

Cars run on gasoline stupid, not petrol. This is America.

Wow! You get my Useless Commentary of the Week Award. This is Earth, not America.

It is free in practical matter even though it doesn't violate the law of conservation of energy. Your radiator gets used in the winter too and the amount of heat that goes out is determined by the thermostat. When the coolant gets to a predetermined tempture thermostat opens and lets the coolant flow through the radiator until the tempture drops to another set point.

If you're using the heater, thermostat won't stay open as long.

ARGH, you mindnumbing blogfestering dewberry! I was being sarcastic to make fun of the people that actually answered the first guy seriously.. I was also making fun of poor Lifer's legitimite thread being completely hijacked.

You just answered what was already answered previously in the thread... which, I don't believe, was ever intended to be answered seriously in the first place. People, people! Let's not get our panties in a bunch because someone made fun of goofy British people who don't know how to speak English and who call their gasoline petrol. :D

Kind of weird that they call it that. It's not petroleum, after all.
