:hmm:😕
Is Turn Left really a sport?
:'(I see you speak English approximately as well as most of the Nascar fans..
It's a motorsport. I don't consider the participants to be athletes.
I'm curious why you're asking about NASCAR specifically instead of all auto racing?

Don't worry, I actually enjoy watching Nascar occasionally.
F1 for example, doesn't involve driving in a circle.....
Only in America. 😀

Right, it just involves throwing millions (billions) of dollars into a car each week.
**note** I am both an F1 and a Nascar fan
Like you guys can talk... the UK's idea of "racing" is driving hot rod compact cars on some dirt road in the woods with a stopwatch to see who had the best time.
Right. The specificity of his question implies that the shape of the track is a deciding factor between sport and non-sport in his mind. I'm asking if that was his intention, or if he meant to ask if auto racing in general is a sport.
I would argue that driving round and round in a circle is a retarded sport. (as is the OP.)
As you said, F1 is not "driving round and round in a circle"
But have you ever considered the fact that F1 is still just driving around from point A to point A repeatedly? Does the route you take really matter?
I would say so yes, the acceleration in and out of corners, managing the handling etc is what makes it a skill worth watching.
Thats why I prefer to watch races like the Grand-Am series (specifically the Continental tire series). The conti-series is a group of cars that are 90% STOCK so they actually require skill and tactics to be fast.
Does that go round in circles?
Oh yeah that's cool too, I love the idea of watching road cars race, it's fun, but at the other end I love watching the fastest vehicles in the world race, the skill involved to think that quickly is amazing to me.No. 100% road courses.
Its similar to touring cars
