I don't have one. Most people I know don't have one either. Unless you do a lot of international travel, there's really no need to pay for one "just in case." It's a big country with lots to see (I still haven't seen a lot of it) and while I'd love to get the chance to go to Europe, China, Australia and some other places, I just don't have the vacation time to allow me to do that (a common problem in the U.S. where I believe vacation time is far below average compared to some other countries.) As someone said above, you can go to Canada/Mexico/most of the Caribbean with a driver's license and birth certificate. That's what we'll be using for our cruise to the Bahamas in a couple weeks.
