I have a passport, have since 1993 when I first went to Europe. Who knows where I may take off to next? Botswana here I come!!!!

Yea the US is huge but it's all the same because it's all the US. THe culture is similar across the entire thing so if you've seen one state you've seen them all. Sure they are different but new york is more like alabama than the US is like Italy.

wow, I'm surprised so many here that dont have passports, I always thought from all the time wasted reading the forum that realy many here had traveled all over the world😱

You gotta remember that the US is so much bigger than European countries...you going to London and Paris takes as much time as me going to Texas 🙂

You will need to present a finger print and picture for Mexico/Canada now, a DL is probably no longer a minimum.
Good old Nogales is gonna whither up and die 🙁

well if it makes you feel any better, i've been to china and taiwan a few times 🙂

btw, that 95% includes hicks and other such people, i wouldn't be surprised if there were more than 5% on the board.

Say wha? You don't need to fingerprint to cross the border.

That's sad staying in the US because you think no other country has anything to offer.

Yeah........... go visit other countries & cultures........... good fun and good eats 🙂 Also you get to meet some new friends in the youth hostle (I now have places to stay around the world now) 😀

Cheers,
Aquaman

You've never been to Hawaii?

I keep my passport updated because . . . well, I never know . . . I used to travel alot . . . hopefully again . . . there IS a lot (a whole world) outside the USA.

No passport here either.

Czar, I believe I read the article today you got the 5% number from. That number surprised me as well. But, considering the source, I wouldn't consider the accuracy to be guaranteed.

She is the weakest link.😉

I doubt going to canada will require that. Last time i went over, they never even asked me for my drivers license or birth certificate.

Depends how old you are...when I went to Europe, I found that I was into most of the same things with lots of Europeans my age...

I bet there are some major changes in que to happen on the Canada border, considering that some of the 9/11 hijackers entered the country through Canada.

Hmm I haven't heard of this. My passport doesn't even have my fingerprint. Mrs. Skoorb's brother went back up to Canada on Sunday and he had no fingerprint ID either.

This surprises me how few people seem to have them. I have had one since I was about 6 months old, they even gave my mom lots of crap because her hand was in the picture holding me up.

i've travelled to Europe numerous of times.. but i've never had a US passport and still don't.

I used to have a passport, but it expired. I don't travel to any other countries not because I think they're inferior but because I hate to travel. I literally loathe it. I've got tons of family overseas which I haven't seen in years and frankly I don't really care. If there ever arises a time where I NEED to leave the coutry for something then I'll update my passport but until then I'm perfectly happy right where I am.

i do not have one. There is no reason to unless i am going overseas.

Having the ability to move about the globe freely at will is important, I recommend getting your passport
before you NEED to have one 🙂

agree 100%...if any of you guys are in your early 20's and plan on working...i definately agree you should get one and keep it up to date...the world is getting smaller everyday...I hadn't planned on going out of the country and the next thing i know i went to three other countries in the span of about 3 months on short notice..

hehe yeah thats the one 😉

i have one. i thought the number was more like 10%, but still, a startlingly low number. i recommend every american travel overseas at least once in his life....even travel to other industriaized countries will give you a greater sense of global sensitivity.
