Yes on Bengals.

Watch out for Jacksonville. They've been playing well the last couple of weeks and starting defense against them has been a bad play.

I grabbed Cleveland two weeks ago specifically for the week 16 matchup against Jets.

That's what I was thinking on Jax. They've actually showed some "umph" here lately. Hell, I toyed with the idea of starting their D this week, but I'm rolling with Philly this week instead.

Let me ask you this, would you play the Browns @ NYJ over the Bengals vs. Minnesota week 16 (the Browns are available to me at the moment)? Would you say it's a close call between the two, or a no brainer one way over the other?

i also hope rodgers doesn't play this week. I had him all season on my bench after he got injured. But finally dropped him to pick up Dalton to limit my opponent's QB options who has McCown and Palmer. Also Dalton vs the Vikings seems like a good matchup over Foles vs Bears in week 16 (if I make it that far).

Looks like my opponent now has Rodgers, McCown, and Palmer. I hope he is forced to play Palmer.

It looks like "slim to none" on Rodgers playing this week. I think you're good there.

I'd have to look at the numbers, but the defense at home would be the tie breaker. Either would be a good start.

So with 2 weeks left in the season and many Fantasy leagues ending next week, what's your vote for Fantasy MVP this year? Peyton Manning, Jimmy Graham, Jamaal Charles, someone else? And do you think the real life MVP will be the same person?

I think this year's fantasy mvp is Jimmy Graham. His value over replacement is unreal.

Moreno :( Not off to a good start in my first playoff game. At least Prater got me 9 points...

And yeah, I feel bad for anyone who started Tamme

Yeah Tamme screwed me, not sure why everyone and their mom was so sure he would be starting in the slot (roto, numberfire, pff). Not a big deal in 1 league (had Keenan Allen and Rivers), but shitty in the other. Need Cutler to come up big this week.

Yup, I'm never playing a defense @NYJ again after Oakland's -1. I remember posting that I had a bad feeling about everyone being so sure Oakland was a top 5 play despite any quantitative data to back up that opinion. Geno and co play much better at home. It wasn't a fluke that they beat NE and NO there. Hence why "fades" aren't a good bet over an actual solid defense (like Buffalo, Seattle, AZ, SF, etc) when completely relying on turnovers. Cincy still has solid data backing them, even though they didn't do great last week. They are a better bet long term.

Heh. With RGIII's benching and Rodgers still out one of my playoff matchups this week has the superstar QB pairing of Ryan Tannehill vs Andy Dalton.

Former RG3 owner. I picked up Tannehill who was the only one worth anything. He's actually put up solid numbers the last 4-5 weeks so I'm not too scared. Out of my entire team I've been weak at QB. The rest of the team looks very good so it hasn't really been a concern.

Any thoughts on starting TY Hilton this week? It's a gamble but he blew up the Texans last time with 3 TDs and coach say they need to get the ball to him more. Plus he loves indoors. I normally wouldn't play him but I lost Gronk.

I'm in the semi finals despite losing the following:
#2 pick David Wilson
#5 pick Gronk
#7 pick RG3

Only 4 of my starters are folks I drafted. The rest are all waive wire pickups who have been gold.
Zac Stacey
KC Defense
Keenan Allen

Yeah Graham has been great. I think McCoy or Charles are also up there. McCoy is helped a lot more by his system whereas Charles does it off volume. Both immensely talented and it's amazing they haven't missed a game yet.

I feel your pain. In one league, I drafted and subsequently lost most of my picks due to injury: Doug Martin, David Wilson, Reggie Wayne, Ahmad Bradshaw, Mike Williams, and Vick Ballard. Oddly, this is the only league where I'm doing well in the playoffs since I essentially wrote off my team earlier in the season and only made it into the playoffs on a fluke after another couple teams imploded. With my opponent starting Manning and Julius Thomas last night and me having Ryan Matthews in my Flex spot, I'm a 71% favorite to advance to the league's Super Bowl next week. Absolute, complete, and dumb blind luck sometimes works better than any degree of skill and it certainly did in this case.

I wouldn't really call that luck if you managed to adjust your team and fill the voids with upside or potential breakout players. That's where the skill aspect comes in. Well and luck that people you think will go off actually do. There were many of my waiver pickups that looked ready to explode but were duds.

Words to live by. I picked up Josh Gordon, Alshon, Keenan Allen, M. Floyd and P.Rivers, McCown or Cutler off waivers and I'm pummeling opponents before even adding Shady's production to the mix.

I lost Gronk but had M Bennett on my bench and was able to pick up Pitta..

Should I start Bennett (vs CLE) or Pitta (vs DET)...leaning towards Bennett right now

for RB, which two of the three?

Lacy (vs DAL), Rainey (vs SF) or S Jackson (vs WAS)...Lacy is a no-brainer against DAL, Jackson has a better match up...any reason to start Rainey over these two?

Any advice is appreciated...Thanks.

Sure, a couple key pickups like Bobby Rainey and Kendall Wright helped win a couple weeks, but most of my other WW pickups were busts. Actually what helped me most was a trade offered to me in early November. I gave Romo and Demaryius Thomas, and got Nick Foles/Dez Bryant/Ryan Matthews/Darren Sproles. Ironically, the owner who offered me that trade is who I'm playing this week in the Semifinals and the trade is likely going to be a big part of what helps me beat him. He started DThomas from the trade and got 4 points where I started Matthews from the trade and got 18; a 14 point shift like that might be a back breaker.

Injury updates that just randomly popped up on Twitter.

Aaron Rodgers - Out.
AP - Questionable
Gerhart - Questionable
MJD - Doubtful
Lacy - Probable (McCarthy did say he has no problem giving Starks the ball 20 times though)
Sean Lee - Out

Grrr....I'd rather Lacy just be ruled out than some half ass active/maybe play him a few snaps deal.

So what were your best and worst moments of the Fantasy season? Mine:

Best: Week 1, led the league in points scored by a 20% margin, turns out to be the league highest score of the season. All downhill after that.

Worst: Same league, mid-season. Reduced to starting Pierre Thomas as my RB1 for 3 weeks straight due to other injuries, in a standard scoring, no PPR league. Outscored one week 61.70 to 146.48.

Worst - putting up 150 points (which is huge for our league) then proceeded to run my mouth against my opponent who I was up 25 on Monday. He had Russell Wilson and I had saints kicker that night.

My kicker put up 1 pt, Wilson went off for 33 points. I lost and got to hear it from him at work for at least a few days.

Best:
When I played the same guy the very next week in the playoffs and trashed him 160 to 70.

Pitta is getting a lot of love on the fantasy shows and is a key part of that offense. Depends on if you can roll with the matchup.

I saw an NFL show on Raven Ed Reed. He was all pumped up over Pitta in one of the games. He was yelling -
"that's American Express right there. He's EVERYWHERE you want him to be."

I'd lean Jackson as I think Falcons are going to destroy a deflated redskins team.

Bennett is the safer bet with Chicago's weapons. Pitta is decent but Flacco could get terrorized by the Detroit pass rush since it will be tougher sledding on the ground for Baltimore. You can't go wrong with either but Bennett's QB will be under less pressure.

I'm starting SJax over Rainey. Rainey will probably have trouble finding the endzone even if he bursts through the first level, SJax has an easier matchup.

Best: 1) Getting McCoy for Megatron and TRich. (League1) 2) Picking up Moreno in week 2 (L2) 3) Picking up Alshon, J.Gordon, Keenan (L1). 4) Winning a matchup by 2 points on Monday night (L2).
Worst: 1) QB issues. Barely losing weeks 2-3 due to Kaepernick's inability to hit even close to his projection. (L1) In the other league, Cutler and Locker injuries completely tanked the week. Case Keenum doing shit against Jax losing me another week. 2) Barely losing a week to my boss by 2 points on the last drive of Monday Night when I could give 5 points and his Bears D scored 7 (and knocked out Aaron Rodgers) (L2). 3) Losing all of my team to injury or trades. (L2) 4) Drafting R.Rice and TRich as my first two picks (L2).

Best: Trading away Randall Cobb the week before he got knocked out for the season. The trade completed the day before the game where he got knocked out. Got lucky there.

Worst: Having an extremely solid team in the main AT league, but having, by far, the most points scored against me so I missed the playoffs. Now I am about to lose in the consolation bracket this week because the guy I play is someone I have already lost to twice; he gets crazy lucky every time I play him. Stinks.

Worst: Getting blown out by two new people to our league in weeks 1 & 2. Week one I was massacred by Peyton and that 7 TD game. It was something like 150 to 57. Hurt my feels. Wanted to quit.

The two who beat me are husband and wife, and they face each other this week to fight for the final game next week. I hope to meet them there ;) I need payback!

Best: Those were my only two losses until week 14, so I maintained an 11 game winning streak (woulda been 12 games if I'd played McCown over Brees week 14, but who does that?? haha. Hindsight's a bitch)

This season I have made 5 trades and 55 acquisitions. I got serious this year after placing second in my rookie year last season. I absorbed every bit of info I could find. This thread has been a great resource/sounding board, and I thank you guys for that.

Out of my initial draft, I think the only three I still have are Brees, Megatron and Prater. Over the season I acquired Bush, Moreno, Stacy, KC D, Dez, D Jax, Jeffrey, Graham, and Gonzalez. Losing Julio and Gronk sure did suck. I almost wept a bit when Julio went out...

Best: Jordie and Joique for Bmarshall, Darryl Richardson for Cam, Gronk and SJax for Lamar Miller and K.Allen

Lukewarm: Rainey and Gordon for Lynch and Colston right before Gordon went nuts

I may be trying to hit the lottery this weekend since Peyton was craptastic last night. I currently have Spiller and Thomas in, but it's so bad right now I think throwing a dart at this board is my best option.Help me pick among my weak RBs. (Yes, I hoarded all the RBs.)

C.J. Spiller vs JAX
Pierre Thomas vs STL
Maurice Jones-Drew vs BUF
Chris Johnson vs ARI
Joique Bell vs BAL
Chris Ogbonnaya vs CHI

MJD had to aggravate his groin and be doubtful after a nice stretch. Johnson's streakiness and ARI's #1 run defense just spells trouble. Bell has a Monday night game so he's all but rulled out. Ogbonnaya could be the lottery pick this week with Spiller and Thomas getting split carries with their respective counterparts.
