I think RB of the year needs to go to Jamal Charles. Dude is a beast and rarely is brought to the ground. Most of the time they blow it dead and he's still standing with 4 guys hanging off him.
Sure, JC is tops in FF points. But by other metrics, he's not as dangerous skill-wise. JC isn't in the top 10 in PFF Elusive Rating, i.e. missed tackles forced. Only Lynch has more missed tackles than McCoy although given their rating, Ivory/Peterson/Murray/Joique would pass him given the same volume (total rushing+receiving attempts, yards after contact, total MTs rushing+receiving, rating):
1) Ivory (179, 3.04, 39, 66.2)
2) Peterson (308, 2.97, 67, 64.6)
3) Lynch (313, 2.50, 79, 63.2)
4) Murray (248, 2.81, 50, 56.7)
5) Joique (207, 2.39, 48, 55.5)
6) McCoy (338, 2.45, 72, 52.2)
7) Bernard (208, 2.36, 42, 47.6)
7) Tate (215, 2.38, 43, 47.6)
9) Lacy (296, 2.34, 60, 47.5)
10) TRich INDY (175, 1.90, 43, 46.7)
...
13) Charles (330, 2.22, 63, 42.4)
In Breakaway Percent (15yd+ Runs + total 15+ yardage) McCoy is better.
1) Spiller 46.5
2) Ivory 44.5
3) Gore 37.4
4) Peterson 36.3
5) McCoy 36.1
6) Forte 36.0
7) Charles 34.0
Other things to consider, Charles has a higher drop rate at 10 drops in 80 catchable passes, McCoy only 3 in 54. Fumbles, only 1 for McCoy and 5 for Charles on similar total volume. McCoy has the most yards in the league after contact behind only Peterson (Peterson 829, McCoy 703 Alfred Morris 701).
Outside of Fantasy, the only thing that Charles does better in real life is block (+1.1 vs -4.5). Also, imagine AP in the Philly scheme with similar volume, it would be nuts watching him run that much against nickel D's, especially with a good 1/2 yard after contact more than McCoy.
