Is this off topic enough?

I just don't understand why people take this stuff so seriously. Does Nik tell women he has 40K ATOT posts to help him get laid? It isn't like it is a Congressional Medal Of Honor. It is a message board.

Oh, by the way, I like being abrasive, especially to people that make too many assumptions and think they are better than others because of asinine reasons.

I know how you feel, posting on other forums sometime gets slow responses. Posting it in ATOT though, you bound to get "WRONG FORUM" responses but you will most probably still get good answers/replies. So if you still chooses to do so you just gotta have to deal with it and move on.

So the Gmail thread at the top wouldn't fit in software?
I really don't understand why people take the effort to bitch someone out because they didn't get a response in the "correct" forum.
Gmail is a service that benifits a lot of members here. Are you telling me that your hardware issue that you *must* have fixed this instant is pertinant to that many people? That you are comparing the two is asinine.

People post in the wrong forum all the time. I've been guilty of it, and when I'm called out I say "whoops sorry." and move on with my life. You on the other hand berate the people who ask you to follow the board rules, even though they are still helping you with the problem. Great attitude there.

So you have to wait a bit for a response. Is it going to hurt you in any way? You poor baby.

*I* didn't have the question. Someone else did and I replied whn Nik let into them.

So what if G-mail benefits a lot of people. It doesn't negate the fact that it is a software app and belongs in that forum. So there seems to be a lot of conflicting statements. It can be posted in off topic IFF it is off topic or if it benefits people?

You didn't answer my basic question. It was stated that this is a board for people with topics that do not fit anywhere. G-Mail fits in software apps. Please explain to me, without using some BS about benefitting others, why it is here. Explain it to me by starting off with the sentence, "G-Mail does not belong in software applications because..."

Maybe 200 other members are having the same problem as the OP with the mobo question.

No, it can be posten in OT IFF the Mods decide that it can be posted. There was an exception made for gmail because 8348950945 different people kept posting gmail threads in OT and everyone got damn sick of it. The solution was the stickied thread. It was before you joined so I wouldn't expect you to realize that.

Alright, I'm out for the day. Thanks for playing. Thanks to everyone that made me feel better by using immature responses like STFU n00b. Thanks to everyone who made me feel better by skirting direct questions and answering with attacks. This has been informative.

I think I'll go home and get laid now...(the amount of posts on ATOT is inversely proportional to the amount you get laid...I better quit posting.)

There's a reason why there are different forums on Anandtech -- to cater to different needs; People who most likely visit Off Topic, don't visit other forums and such (esp. the technical side) whereas others visit mostly the tech forums and not OT.

Asking for computer help in an Off Topic forum, when there's a Tech Support forum is like asking for computer help in a seedy bar -- sure, you might eventually get help, but not before people will tell you to get the heck out 😛

That being said, if there're any tech support questions in OT, I just skip the thread.

The thread is mainly for sharing gmail account invitation, not technical questions or problems relating to gmail thus it's qualified to be in OT.
Again, most ppl here will still help you even though you post in the wrong forum. But noone will prolly help you if you keep showing this kind of attitude.
