phatcow.. my friend has an HP 215 I think.. 1.3 megapixel camera.

check his picuters out.. clear as ever. He is shooting at a lower res.. not 1280.960.. but at 800x600

By the way some pictures are shot at 800x600 rest are shot higher.. but you can see the difference.. especially in the outdoor shots.

the_good_guy is right. Take it at one lower setting. I have a 2.1 MP camera, and i take photos at 1024 because at 1600 you can see some slight pixelization. At 1024 its great, though. I have a Nikon 775, BTW.

<< its not scaled down. its 1280 x 960 at fine quality. >>

Is that the highest setting? I can't remember and I don't have mine with me but those pictures don't seem quite as good as the ones I have taken with mine.

Here are some pics with my FinePix 1400

Very very sharp closeup (no touch up), full resolution (660937 bytes)
Full size pic of computer (original again), full resolution (598576 bytes)
Computer resized 1:2 in PSP7 (73490 bytes)
Original 640*480 (the lower resolution) of other computer (67169 bytes)

1280*960 pics resized in PSP7

I've found out that 640*480 mode is really crips... or 1280*960 resized in an image-editing software.
And for full size pics (1280*960), the more light there is, the crisper it is.
