And where do you live? America is a country that is mostly isolated from the rest of the world - the general populace does not have much experience with other languages because Canadians speak English to the North and well...no one goes to Mexico besides Cancun. We don't have people driving through our highway and train systems who speak a different language primarily (at least, not in large numbers and with little consistency). English is the majority language - it is the language of businesses above fast food restaurants, so it's a bit hard to get around without it. If English were not the "official" language of England, then would you demand that Britons demanding that foreigners speak the primary language would be arrogant?

If that was me you said that to the last thing you are going to remember is a jar of Hellmann's Mayonaisse over your skull followed by fresh from the oven baked italian bread right up your ass.
Oh by the way, yes, lady should have read the signs but you were a complete jackass about it.

What does that matter?
I'm pretty sure the sign was in English. Official language is really moot, if you can't read/speak English you are not -able- to follow many of the simple rules of society which could have much worse results than checking out 30 items in a 12 item or less lane.
"no right on red"
"do not block the intersection"
"left exit only"

More than likely she just didn't read the sign like many other shoppers have done. Drivers who don't slow down at STOP signs and just blaze through probably could read English, too, or recognize the color red but they do it anyway. What does that tell you?
