I heard Nox is a classic in the genre as well. It's on GOG, but if you're looking for a physical copy, you may have trouble as it's an older game.

NOX is fun, a very tongue in cheek Diablo clone. I had it years ago, and played the hell out of it. It is nowhere near as deep as Diablo and TQ, but fun anyway for a few run throughs.

It runs perfectly fine on Win 7 Home Premium here. No problems at all. Never had to enable/disable anything.

Might be a demo issue? Not sure if you d/l the demo or the game. I can't see why this one game would cause me issues, I have lots of games that I play through steam.

Never heard someone use the term "Deep" related to any of those three games. LOL

Been 5 years since I played it...damn brings back good memories. I really liked it, I think it could have been better in the art style, but it was an inspired RPG.

Nah, it was installed off the disc, as well as the exp. Not running it through steam either.

So I just started playing this game, and I'm amazed at how well the graphics still look by today's standards. The game must've looked stunning in 2006.

I didn't know that I'm supposed to run the Immortal Throne exe right away. I just started using it, but I can't try the dream class sadly, as I don't wanna start over (halfway through Greece now).

When do they let me respec? I seem to have picked up a lot of useless spells. And I heard you have unlimited teleports? I saw the portal stone in the camps, but I don't know how to teleport from the wilderness back to the camp.

Down at the bottom of the screen, you should see right in the middle an icon for the teleport drop.

I bought the Gold edition for $5 from Steam some time ago.

I had the boxed games and sold them to a friend a while back and wanted to get it again.

It's a well worth series, awesome ARPG with great gameplay and nice customization for your character. The leveling system is well thought out and semi-unique.

Love it!

There are npcs in most of the bigger towns that let you pay to return a skill point. The cost increases with each use though so use it sparingly.

Fun game, but I cannot beat the end boss at all. I make it up the stairs to him, but he's impossible to beat. Last time I tried was early spring and haven't played it since.

Its a great game with one huge problem there is no secure character storage so you can just edit your char to be amazing and play it online, it de-values items and makes trade worthless. So if you enjoy playing diablo2 in single player mode buy it. If you like multiplayer then just play Diablo2 again. The next ladder starts 10/25.

I dont get why people who copy d2 never understand its multiplayer appeal. Nobody has gotten it right over the past 10 years.

Much like any simple RPG if you get stuck, you need to grind away and gain enough levels that challenges become a little easier. Also keep in mind you can buy back skill points and reconfigure your character for an easier time on the final boss. In fact for pretty much every build somebody on the interwebs has a guide for optimal efficiency of skills and stats.

Also, if you get tired of grinding away, get a tool like TQ Defiler to make life easier. I set double XP so there wouldnt be as much grinding but the game is still fun to play.

Also I buyback my skill points without the cost increasing exponentially so its easy to keep reconfiguring my character until I get it right.

Many folks will suggest that for big bosses you need to buff your special defenses and make one strong attack spell, just keep using that. Thats good for the boss but once you beat him you need to redo your skills for multi-purpose use, like groups of weak enemies and handfuls of powerful sub-bosses.

TQ Vault.
Nothing sucks worse than playing an Elementalist and finding a kickass bow with Brigand boosting abilities. And we all know the in game vault sucks cuz if something weird happens its gone for good.

I'm at Delphi now and I Have like 300,000 gold with nothing interesting to buy. What am I supposed to spend this gold on?

The vendor armor/weapons all suck, and the only other gold sink I could find was the skill reallocation guy.

Buy up runes to combine them?

Torchlight got that part right, with ember and enchantment as money sinks along with some pretty good items now and then at the vendors.

Buying back items and/or relics that you've socketed. It can get expensive fast, but you don't have to wait until you have an uber-weapon to use your relics.

The gambling in TL took all my gold haha. I've been playing TQ and enjoying it, I haven't figured out a bunch of stuff yet. Also me and my buddy are lost haha. Don't want to look anything up though, it is fun. I feel like the game is pretty unbalanced towards classes with AoE so far though, my girl is skilled towards single target damage and my buddy is more AoE and so far he is like 10x more useful then me haha.

I downloaded Titan Quest demo and it wouldn't run. Says I have to enable virtual memory. Either it isn't compatible with Win7 or Win7 doesn't enable virtual memory by default (which sounds insane to me) because I never disabled it.

I am having this same issue. Decided to reload in anticipation of Grim Dawn, only now on my Win7 machine. Gave me the virtual memory error. i did some searching on the web and found that I have to go to my games/Titan Quest/settings and default it to not do a system check. Only the game never fired up for the first time so nothing in my games. I tried enabling the virtual memory so that I could fire it up and then reset. Only it didn't take????

Anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong?

Did you try running it as an XP compatibility mode program? I've only played TQ on a Windows XP system but it worked great there.

Not a fan of the game myself. It feels uninspired and generic in comparison to diablo 2. If I had never played diablo 2, I could have enjoyed it a little more.
