Is this becoming common in parking lots?

As many have asked I do live in California specifically Norcal where the hippies run wild. The same In N Out also has signs posted in the drive-thru to 'turn off engines in order to preserve the environment'. I laughed the last time I went because I parked my mustang in one of the LEV spots..right next to a giant F350 pickup in the adjacent spot.

If it's in a private parking lot, you could get towed.

Are you sure? I was under the impression the only signs that were actually enforceable were the handicapped and 'for this business only' signs (and even the last one has issues with 'I parked, went in, left and then went to the next store')

I drive an F150 and I'm not bothered by this. I'm generally pretty easy going about parking spots though, there's nothing wrong with a little walking.
I park far from the door because I'm absolutely convinced that fat people who park as close as possible are fat enough that they can't get out of the car without swinging the door waaaaay open and fucking up my car.

The three or four In N Outs I know of didn't have this type of parking.. unless its new. Won't the constant starting your car cause more pollution than keeping the engine on?
