Okay, I'll just stick with the 2gb and see how it works for me. Everything else is OK right? So do I get the "all-clear" to actually buy this thing now haha.

Oh and no one ever commented on the Monarch Computer site... is this a good place to buy it from or should I try to price it out at another site too?

OH I wanted to ask one more thing - do you think it's pointless to get the case that has the "windows" on the side since nothing will be lit up on the inside? My husband thinks it's pointless but I think it looks good...

Yeah, i've seen guys choose it, heh heh

Well...it's more or less pointless in a practical sense, but you're talking aesthetics so "looks good" counts right?

Yeah - it definitely counts!!! Then again, maybe us chicks are just more into aesthetics then you guys haha.

I think I'll get it - doesn't hurt any.

I prefer restrained sytle rather than shiny, shiny lights. Mostly because my computer sits under a desk and i can't see it so it's a bit of a waste for me, but also because there's no benifit at all from them.

Right, that's why my husband thinks its pointless. Our computer sits under the desk and in a cabinet LOL. So you really don't see anything but the front. Maybe I should just hold off on the "windows"...

Both sides on my case actually have windows on them. I've had this same case for quite a while so back a few years ago I thought it was cool ;)

I was doing the whole "UV cold cathode" thing before case lighting was really popular.

If I was getting a new case though, I probably wouldn't get another window.

The only practical thing about it is that you can check things without opening the case (Make sure the CPU fan is still running etc)

Something that you might not know about it that dust shows up pretty easily on them and it's kind of hard to keep them looking good.

There are plenty of windowed / lighted cases out there that are good though, so it's totally up to you.

True, but the orriginal rig was massively overkill and we did try to talk her down to a lower spec rig at several points.

Hmm... Very nice specs... BUT i think i could do better for $2800...

Try using pricewatch.com if you don't mind some of the products might be refurbished...

I think with price watch you could build this system for under $2000 and get a 24" Dell LCD for $800...

get an opteron 165, and overclock it. as far as the difference between the two. the multiplyier is unlocked both ways on the FX60. not saying anything else says alot. now compare the major differences, 165 = @ 300$ FX60 = @ 1100$

now look at the fact of how quietly AMD introduced the Opteron (i must not of been reading the opteron articles if they were out there) I thought the FX line was the ultimate AMD cpu to get until i started researching the Opteron 165. now heres the best part to place rhetoric but ill just say the Opteron can be overclocked on air up to around 2.6Ghz = instant FX60
