just had a big server failure luckly i had recently done backups, but is there a program I can run that will automatically download the latest changes to a website and database (my server doesn't do this)?

Just about any control panel should let you do this.

I use DirectAdmin and have all my sites backed up to FTP.
 
well what i am looking for is something that runs on my own machine that will periodically connect to an ftp and download files that are different/updated since the last check. does such software exist?
