Is there any way for a person that commits suicide to go to heaven?

No, because God's only power over you is to take your life. If you take that power from him (i.e.- commiting suicide) that is a big b1tch slap in his face, thus no entry to heaven, no 72 virgins, ect, ect...

I guess it doesn't matter where one ends if they were already at the point of suicide. It's the anywhere but here attitude.

What if you're given a choice of killing a bus full of nuns and children or yourself and you pick yourself. Wouldn't that be benevolent?

you knowingly die for something. Sacrifice is a form of suicide? or is suicide a form of sacrafice?

I looked up "suicide" in the index of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

From the reference I found, the church does say suicide is evil (of course), but there's no mention of mandatory going to hell that I see in there.

Entrance into heaven is a gift given to us through the grace of God, according to Catholic teaching. One who accepts Jesus as his savior will go to heaven.

WHat if you ask forgiveness for what you are about to do, then *bang*?

Wouldn't that loophole you in?

I'm pretty sure Catholocism regards suicide as one of those "cardinal sins" that automatically exclude you from heaven.
One who *truly* accepts Jesus would not want to kill himself when his life could be better used spreading the word of God.

Also, if you don't believe in an afterlife, then you wouldn't be concerned about this.

Seems to me that heaven is either pretty empty or pretty full (if there is one). I am not speaking as to whether I do or dont believe in god/heaven and so on. But think about it, if they hold all the rules literal and all sins damn you, then most of the world is pretty boned. Or on the other hand, if heaven is for those people who are good in nature, then heaven is probably pretty full and hell is reserved for a select few (stalin, hitler, etc).
