I'm telling you in couple thousand years if we all don't kill eachother socialism and communism will play a very big role in the world.

In that they'll help us kill each other more quickly?

No your mind just has to evolve beyond self serving means and think about advancing human kind as a whole.

We only have had a few individuals like that, but I see them popping up more and more as we move forward through history. It seems as if they are increasing. Its a logical step up from the social net that humans have been evolving over the centuries.

Human beings are, by their very nature, self-interested. Without realizing that, any steps to advance humankind as a whole will fail miserably because they're making errors in basic assumption. Communism works in theory as a thought experiment, but there are reasons why it doesn't work on a practical level.

That has to be about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Social Darwinism is the most advanced form of civilization possible.

Society's top 10% do more for the world than the entire bottom 90% and they should be rewarded as such.

What exactly do YOU DO for the world? I'm sure you do a lot for yourself but thats a different subject entirely.

I hold the most noble profession in the world, the businessman.

Businessmen are the one group that distinguishes capitalism and the American way of life from the totalitarian statism that is swallowing the rest of the world. All the other social groups- workers, farmers, professional men, scientists, soldiers- exist under dictatorships, even though they exist in chains, in terror, in misery, and in progressive self-destruction. But there is no such group as businessmen under a dictatorship. Their place is taken by armed thugs: by bureaucrats and commissars. Businessmen are the symbol of a free society- the symbol of America.

It is only by serving oneself in the highest possible form that one can serve all of human kind in the highest form. An individual who creates the most gives the most.

I can think of one of those few great individuals you are referring to right now, and you know what my favorite quote from him was? "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -- Gandhi.

Contrast that thinking to the communistic ideal of self-annihilation and the forceful change of others. Communism is not a "step up," it is a "step down." Back to tribalism and feudalism. Back to bickering about distribution like broke college kids fighting over who's going to pay for pizza and beer.

I really don't see the humor. I suppose it is because Rand's over-the-top writing style tends to make people miss the point. What she basically said was that whereas businessmen in a capitalist society can only operate through free association and voluntary consent, the businessmen's counterparts in every other form of society operate through force and terror.
Think of it this way: if you don't pay the businessman the money you owe him, the worst he can do is damage your credit. OH NOES!! If you don't pay the taxman, you're going to jail. Oh no indeed.

Term for inbetween capitalism and communism? There is none. You're either in full support of capitalism, or you are a communist.

Well, atleast that's what idiots say whenever I've tried to say there are flaws in capitalism...

The only flaw in true capitalism is the opposite of the major flaw in true communism. Capitalism is obsessed with production with no regard to equal distribution, while communism is obsessed with equal distribution with no regard to production. So we can either all live together equally in starvation under communism (an unsustainable system that would break down rapidly as soon as people started to die), or we could live together unequally in riches under capitalism (an infinitely sustainable system as the rich, in their own best interests, would always bribe the poor just enough to hold off revolution). The good news is that we're not yet communist, so you can still decide for yourself.

I was laughing at the source, not the quote...hence the bold.

Again, economic system vs. form of governance. Capitalism is an economic system, it is not an ideology of omnipotent governance.
