Actually I'd say he did the right thing. Apparently he knew how shitty the movie would be so if he was gonna be in it, he'd better get paid. ^_^

Also, he wasn't asking for more money, they tried to limit his role and asked him to take a pay cut. Then they hired Cheadle and suddenly beefed the role back up.

o_O

It wasn't that bad, and it was a blockbuster success. He definitely lost out. What's he been in since?

IIRC it wasn't just that terrence Howard wanted too much money, it's that he wanted too much money and was a dick about it. Terrence Howard was the highest paid actor in Iron Man. He was also the first actor signed. When they signed him and gave him a big payday they didn't know who was going to be Tony Stark and they didn't know that Downey would just nail the part. When it came time to do IM2 Favreau went to Howard and told him he'd have to take a paycut because he wasn't going to be paid more than Downey and the budget wasn't big enough to give Downey a big raise and keep Howard at his current pay. Howard told Favreau to eff off because he was a better actor than Downey and deserved to be paid more so Favreau and the producers dropped him.

They should've gotten Rachel Weisz instead of goddamned Gylenhaal for Dark Knight. Maggie looks awful, and she's just such a bitch I ended up cheering when she got lit up.

i mean, it entertained. but i waited almost two hours for a plot before i realized this is it.

Morning Radio shows have rumors that Terrence is a pain to work with and missed other jobs since IM2. Too bad Terrence is a jerk since he can act.

He's doing really well on Law & Order: LA. Oh wait, that got canceled.

Biggest dumbass move since David Caruso and NYPD Blue.

He's in that Lucas produced movie about the Tuskegee Airmen that's getting quite a bit of publicity/hype (probably unfounded as Lucas will surely find a way to ruin it).

I'm sure Iron-Man 2 was a career making movie and he's missing out big time. It definitely put Don Cheadle over the top. Lulz. Seriously comparing it to Caruso who is just a plain terrible actor (and would have probably been written off the show had he not left), well, lulz. Aside from Iron-Man which will likely get rebooted after the third one flops, the role was not going to take him anywhere.

Read up on the production, sounds like a clusterfuck and they had financial issues across the board. In fact, it sounds like Favreau not directing the third one is due to him wanting too much money. Basically, Marvell and the movie studios got cheap. I wouldn't fault him for not wanting to let them screw him over for a mediocre role.

Oh no, Fritzo's rolling his eys. I guess making bank automatically makes a movie good. It certainly turned Transformers 2 into a masterpiece. I thought it sucked, until I found out how much money it made, and then I was like Fuuuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkk yeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, best....movie.......ever!!!!! Same holds true for Episod I-III. Indiana Jones 4. Spider-Man 3. 2012. The Twilight movies. I can't even remember all the movies that were obviously masterpieces, I just should have looked at how much money they made.

So do you have an argument or are you just being your usual can't-take-criticism-that-isn't-even-leveled-at-you self?

uh oh...

it sounds like darkswordsman is making the oft used "mcdonald's sells millions of dollars worth of food a day, doesn't mean it's good" argument and you're not buying it.

Haha. Hey, I like McDonald's. Not really. But I do like me some cheap crap food like Pizza Hut and Hardee's (Carl Jr's for some of you). Sonic is ok. Some others too.

for the record, i liked the guy in the first movie. i didn't think cheadle added much to the second.

and hell, cuba gooding jr really DID have greatness in him. but you don't exactly make your own rules as an up-and-comer, a lesson that never gets learned by these hollywood types.

Good idea, but probably too expensive.

Maggie Gyllenhaal isn't a Scarlett Johansson, but she's still pretty hot. At least that's the impression you'll be left with after seeing her in Secretary.

And still out the range of anyone on ATOT. :p

.

Since Iron Man 1 and 2 were both major summer block busters and awesome movies, 3 has big shoes to fill. Hopefully, it fairs better than X-Men 3, Spiderman 3, and Superman 3.

It was the same case with The Matrix. They wrote out the one brother that survived in the first movie because he was a dick to the producers and got axed. I actually thought he did a good job, too bad he was an asshole.
