Actually I'd say he did the right thing. Apparently he knew how shitty the movie would be so if he was gonna be in it, he'd better get paid. ^_^

Also, he wasn't asking for more money, they tried to limit his role and asked him to take a pay cut. Then they hired Cheadle and suddenly beefed the role back up.

It may have also had to do with Terrence Howard's subpar performance and behavior on the set, but the price was probably the main issue.
