I like the newer Tide, with the Oxy cleaner in it or whatever. The old formula was pretty good too. I buy the unscented.

Also really liked the Sears detergent with Oxy cleaner, I think they still make it. Retails around $19.99 but seems to go on sale for $9.99 pretty often.

I believe Consumer Reports gave Tide #1 and ALL their best buy. I go with ALL, 115oz is $4 at Walmart and lasts me like 5 months.

Tide HE or Cheer HE.

Have to use high efficiency because of the washer. Haven't tried any others, before that I would use Tide or Cheer regular kind.

Oxy Clean worked well for me. A little expensive though.
The SA8 products that Amway used to have were actually pretty good. Much stronger but a lot more expensive. You had to be very careful about how much you used. When you break it down by cost per load it worked out the same as the cheap stuff.
Better to use the common brands. You dont have to measure them out with a teaspoon.
Besides, Amway got bought out by Quixtar and you really dont want to deal with them.

I do agree that most of them stink too much. I want my clothes CLEAN. I dont want the old smells covered up with new smells. And the perfume free, dye free stuff costs more for some reason.

That's what I use but I am not fussy.

Many people who claim to be in the know recommend TIDE.

I will be the first to admit I am usually a brand whore. However CostCo's Kirkland liquid detergent is the bomb yo, fo shizzle my nizzle drizzle. It's significantly cheaper than Tide liquid for a larger container.

Consumer Reports does this rating every year and usually gives Powdered Tide with Bleach the #2 spot. The ratings include: getting clothes the most clean, removing the most stains, and having the least amount of redepositing of dirt on other locations in your laundry.

I buy that instead of the #1 rated product since the scores were similar and since powdered tide is one of the cheapest products. Liquid Tide scores worse and costs a fortune.

There was another product that scored well and also was cheap, but I think that is only sold in one store which isn't available anywhere near me. Was it CostCo? I don't have a non-auto CR magazine near me at work.

I think color guard cheer is the best because it cleans your clothes but does not slowly strip the color out of them.
