Yeah the ability of it to stream media from my media center PC is cool too, and I just looked at the XBLA, there are some great game son there.

i need to get media center to do that. would be awesome.

then i'd wonder what the point of my htpc is.

So last question before I leave, keep madden for the xbox and just use both consoles, or trade it in for the 360 version?

My suggestion, go rent the 360 version of Madden and see if you like it first.

Sounds good.

Its basically the same game, right? I just used to use fantasy draft a lot, not sure if I want to give it up or not.

Coo, looks like I may be off to microcenter, just wondering if I can deal with the lose of fantasy draft if I get madden for the 360.

Madden for the 360 has issues -so be careful! Just the fact that they released the game KNOWING there was an bug with the fatigue meter and still released it is highly annoying.

Are the memory cards form the xbox compatiable with the 360, and what about my NCAA 07 draft classes on xbox, will they function for madden and the 360?

Warranty, why is this thing prone to dying?
Not excessively so, but higher than average for electronics. Me and a friend have had possession of five 360s (profit opportunity FTW). One was defective from the factory, and another broke later.

Well if I don't get madden, what game should I get with it? Kinda pointless to buy the system without a game, unless I just play the arcade games for a while. Looks liek the game selection is kinda lacking thus. IGN has about 3 9.0+ titles and only about 10-15 8.0+ titles.

So an extended warranty is a good idea then?

Yeah. I don't remember exactly how much it is, but the price is pretty good. Def. worth it.

What is it through MS or something? I figured you had to buy ti from the retailer

Yes MS offers one. I would go with them. Service is very good, if your 360 doesn't work they basically overnight you a box no questions asked, and a new one is sent out. I had a broken Core system, less than a week later I had a brand new Premium 🙂

Hrm, I was thinking about getting one too. I even have a 12-month Live card I've never activated on account of the fact that I modded my XBox. (And own all of one game for it) I may want to now.

Any way to hook a 360 up to a VGA monitor? My TV is actually a 29" professional display monitor which goes up to 1600x1200.

Yes, buy the VGA HD AV cable.

Oh hell yes.

Crap, guess I'm rolling down to Best Buy to use up some Reward Zone points after work today.

Also, do they make something similarly simple for normal XBoxes? There's the X2VGA, which is more of a Component -> VGA converter now, but I was hoping for something that, well, didn't cost $80.

Holy crap. I didn't know that existed for the 360. Here I was delaying my 360 purchase for an HDTV that I can't afford and I now know I can use it on my 2005fpw without spending $80 for X2VGA.

You can probably find it used for like 35 bucks. Check the forsale forums here, or craiglist.
