Is the word "wuss" anti-gay?

So, I was talking to a co-worker the other day about the lead singer for Smasking Pumpkins and described him as a little wuss. My co-worker, who is gay, threw a little temper tantrum and said that using that type of language was inflammatory towards gay people and that I should take the time to tolerate people that are different. My reaction was one of shock, I had no intention of offending him and do not see his point at all..

how does a combination of wimp and pussy necessarily have anything to do with being gay?

Naw, I don't even think that it's a regional thing. I think that he, like other gay ppl that I know are just looking for a reason to B**** to draw attention to himself.

"Wuss" is a derivative of "Pussy" which refers to either a woman, or a cat. Both of which are skittish and run away from danger.

Now, if you had called him a pansy... that would be different. 😛

Sounds to me he was genuinely upset, but didn't know that the fvck he was talking about.
May'be he gets called a wuss alot?
Or may'be he thinks Billy Corgan is gay.

Just to clarify things up, we are friends, in no way was this a confrontational argument. However, he was not joking when he said he was offended.

I am amused at how many of you all consider yourself "liberals," but do not address gender/sex issues. Yes, I believe calling some one a wuss is anti-gay. You are telling them that they aren't macho enough, and that their gender is not what it should be. If you really believe in gay-rights, then don't belittle them because they are different.

I was about to ask who the panty-waist liberal whiny bitch was. Thanks for answering my question before it was asked. You can put your head back in the sand now until the Scary World passes you by.
