IS the resolution from the third iPad significantly more noticable than the secondgen

don't fault theverge for your shitty eyesight.

Don't you have someone with 9% bodyfat to berate for being overweight? My eyesight is fine. It just isn't THAT much better to everyone. TheVerge also has an article on their front page right now about how the A5X can't keep up with the high resolution, making games actually look worse in some cases, so there ya go.

It's substantially better, but it will vary from person to person due to viewing distance and visual acuity. (I'm not saying you have poor eyesight btw.)

I've both of them in my home, and the difference between the two is glaringly obvious.

If that's what they said then they're wrong, even if a game runs at 1024x768 it's going to look exactly the same as it is on the iPad 2, at worst a game can run at 1536x1152 and it's going to look roughly 50% sharper, but for many, if not most games 2048x1536 is perfectly fine.

He was probably referring to NOVA3, which disables some effects on the new iPad to maintain performance at retina resolution. The devs could have gone the IB2 route (1.5 the resolution with all effects) or given the users control over the graphics options. But yeah, it's Gameloft.

Ah right. Eh still I'd rather have the retina version than have the game run at 1.5x the resolution but with the additional effects.
