In a less insane world, the work to redact would trigger calls for impeachment on its own, effectively threatening "release it with only the bare minimum of redactions ASAP or else we'll throw every one of you assholes out and then we can see what's in the report and decide what we'll do with you after we deal with the ramifications of that report".

Isn't it clear enough by now?
Things are the way they are because they want to drive people CRAZY.
Its never just the democrats, or just the republicans, or just the media.
Every news show from Fox to MSNBC to CNN thru Real Time with Bill Maher complain CONSTANTLY.
They make the case and expose the outrage yet..... nothing is ever done by those that have the ability.
We scream and yell and toss food at the TV and watch as they become hysterical and then we become hysterical, and the show ends, and tomorrows show comes or next weeks show comes and they forgot about yesterdays outrage only to start some new outrage for today.
I have this feeling that when away from all the cameras and all the mic's they, both the media and the politicians, are having a drink together and laughing their asses off at the ignorant gullible public.

Lets be real here....
The news media is in it only for the ratings. And the ratings equal big money. And for the anchors the ratings equal FAME.
And is it any wonder all of these news people are as famous as any Hollywood movie star? Including Tom Hanks?
And the politicians as well are only in it for the money. AND for the power. AND for the fame.
They know, they all know what generates ratings and power and fame.... simply by Fk..g up the people.
Get them mad. Get them really mad. Because if the people are mad then they will watch. And if they watch that equals money and fame. And the old farts in congress sit there doing nothing because for them power and fame and money is the game.
Its all some twisted reality TV game show.
Queue the dancing monkeys. And make darn sure they are wearing those red hats.

WHY would any of them want to actually do something or get something done?
When its so much more fun to mess with the people, to screw the masses and make people really poor and dependent.
Promise a tax breaks, then tax them more.
Promise them healthcare, then give them none.
Promise them to make America great again, then laugh their ass off when they don't.
They have a lock on everything. They collude together. I mean really collude.
And we the suckers can do nothing but watch.
They know us better than we know ourselves.

When one is looking from the inside its impossible to know the truth. One must experience another country other than the US to really see the light, as it were. Americans are so isolated and detached from the outside world that any politician can and will simply MAKE IT UP, and the citizens eat it up because they don't know any better.
How could they?
We're like an experiment. An never ending experiment.
The media knows how to play us. The politicians know how to play us.
Keeping us dumb and ignorant.
Then as they both screw us royally, we won't care because we forget what to care about.
And so we get mad, and they make us mad, and nothing ever changes with that.
They get what they want, and we keep reelecting them over and over again.
Why? Because we don't know any better. How the hell could we?
Queue those dancing monkeys one more time....

Yep, I forgot about the two years Republicans controlled everything and failed to fix immigration, healthcare, etc., It must be the Democrats in the House now.

So how's your outlook adjusting to new information? The Democrats got the report released. Are you unhappy with redaction levels? If not, are you less disillusioned with Democrats now? If not, why?

Answer me this.. besides investigating, what can they get done with a republican senate and president?

Can you come up with ideas which are actually in their power to do?

A lot of stuff you state to will be challenged in court and it needs to have a good foundation to start a legal challenge so it doesn't just get thrown out.

Not sure how that applies. The Democratic House has no way to pass legislation as the republicans obviously wouldn’t go along. The republicans on the other hand did have that opportunity and they flailed ineffectively for years. They passed exactly one substantive bill and it was one to raise taxes long term on the middle class in order to give money to rich people.

Today I read in the NYT it could be never. Are you seeing a pattern here? Yes, GOP is corrupt but Dems seem to be part of the problem. Checks and balanced doesn't really exist and I'm an independent to be clear so not sucking up to either side.

I actually agree with you on this one. I don't understand the second deadline. Put people in jail and they will start complying.
