Whoa! Relax! Shockwave I have been experiencing increased latencies on my Comcast cable connection the past few days. Not as bad today as yesterday. My DSL connections at work were slow on Wednesday but fine yesterday. Tons of nonsense virus traffic this week. Maybe no slowdowns in Switzerland though.

you really think the internet could be for EVERYONE slow? Wow.

Do you REALLY have no diea how networks work?
Yes, it could be slow for everyone.
Dumbass.

for EVERYONE in the world? Please explain me the networks then, I would LOVE to hear that, really.

Since you dont understand what a "core router" is, or a network backbone, I'm not even going to waste my time schooling the 3rd graders.
Everyone is the WORLD? It'd take some major problems to affect everyone. But, I really honestly dont care about anyone outside of the good ole US of A. Either internet wise or health wise, so i dont rightly care if they can surf the net or all die to be honest.

Come on admit it, you got owned! 😉

Ummm, no i didnt.
i work on major fiber backbones. I've seen what happens when a core router fails, or when a fish eats a fiber line (yes, it happens) or when a major virus gets released. I know first hand how badly shyte can hit the fan at times, unfotunately.

You work on major fiber backbones? Whoa, that's sounds like you're veeeeeeeeeeeeery important huh? A "core router" fails in Australia, how does that affect you stupid? It's called INTERnet, not AMERICAnet, or do you maybe mean AMERICA Online Line? That explains a lot.

Wow, you get worked up way to easy. calm down have a  Most here are in the US or Canada, and yes, if a core router or major fiber backbone went down, it could be slow for everyone in North America. And truly, if the servers you were connecting to from Australia were in North America, those would be slow for you as well.

Yeah, I also know what can happen but as a Network Genius, like you, I wouldn't ask such a question.

No, Say you lived in Austrailia, and went to forums.anandtech.com, Anand's servers are located in North America, hence if a major router went down here, you would be effected because you are connecting to a server located in North America.

Get it?

Yeah, if the Servers from Australia would be in North America and a core router in North America fails, of course I would have trouble connecting to North America. My point was: If I connect to a Server on my continent, and a core router in another continent fails, it's VERY VERY unlikely that it will affect me. It's 2am anyway.

Yes, HIGHLY unlikely, but possible, if they had a mesh setup on the routers and a small router suddenly had to deal with 10x more requests.

Anyway, for me, he just sounded very arrogant and everything outside of America doesn't matter to him yadda yadda, that's why I brought up the example with Australia 🙂

Why do people ask other people on different providers if the internet is going slow?
