Is "The Daily Show" supposed to be funny?

Just saw snippets of the 15th February, about Iraq, etc. Should that be funny?

Don't like? Don't watch.

Wondering how the Americans would react if they would make fun of bombings in NYC etc.

One thing I've always been curious about. In the interviews they do with people, are they actually interviewing them or do they take someone else's interview and add themselves and their questions in later?

They do whatever it takes. Maybe it's asking a totally different question and then editing in another question when they get back to the studio.

All interviews are done with the person.

Edit: But yes they do edit them to their liking. Except for the ones with Jon Stewart with his guest.

I've always wondered that too.

Many things can be tasteless if taken out of context.

I don't know. I assumed you meant that they had.

I'm just surprised b/c a lot of times they don't actually show both of the people face to face. They will show the back of the head of the reporter when asking the interviewee a question and vice versa. But it would be easy to superimpose the back of a head on the final product. Sometimes the answers are so off the wall they have to be editing it or taking from another Interview.

Oh, Even Steven was awesome, Mo Rocha rocks, and Lewis Black is hit or miss, but when he hits it's hilarious.

If you ever see just the back of their head, it's been edited back at the studio. I can't image how some of those people feel when they see it.

Most of their reporters have been great. They have had some top quality folks come through their show.
