Is the 7950 or 670 truly faster

Both cards are fantastic. The price/perf argument is still valid in my opinion. A 7950 can usually be had for $60 less than a 670 more often than not. I can also attest to the fact that stock for stock, the 7950 is in the right spot for its price, and the 670 is generally faster. Obviously once overclocking is a factor, the 7950 shines and really holds it's weight in gold (not insinuating that the 670 isn't a decent overclocker too).

So, the gist of all this is, if you find any worth in nVidia's added perks like lightboost and physX, and you're not interested in playing the silicon littery, the 670 is your perfect bet. If you could care less about added offerings, and prefer to tamper and tweak, not too mention some amazing game bundles that are currently occurring, buy the 7950, take your girlfriend out for dinner with the saved cash and play some great bundled titles.

Spot on !
