Is the 2.53B P4 worth $50 more than the 2.4B P4?

Personally until I see how the granite bay mobos do and if they have only 1:1 ratio I would really want to stick with lower multiplier chips like the 2.4b or the 2.26b so I can fsb high as it can go.....

Ie...a lot of the 2.26b's are getting to around 2.8ghz and that means about 166fsb or 333mhz ddr in a GB dual ddr mobo....unless the 2.53's are getting 100mhz over the 3ghz mark and at current with no c stepping chips yet surfacing I know this isn't happening with any great frequency, I wouldn't take the chance

Depends on how far you plan to overclock and if you will at all. If your not into overclocking then I'd say that it might be worth the extra 50$ to get the extra stock speed. If your into some ocing then some 2.26B's can out overclock the 2.53's.

If you could land one of the newer 2.53GHz's with the C1 stepping then I'd jump on it. I have the 2.53GHz with the older stepping and its not a really good overclocker.

Reports I remember hearing was that they were expected to start showing uo at the end of this month...However there may likely be a lot of the older stepping chips in the supply system so odds of getting one could be quite the gamble for awhile....
