Yowzer. Too bad Vick will be out with an injury by week 3 and their season will be over. 😛

WOW, that's a shocker.

Although the Eagles are extremely strong outside (CB/DE)...they aren't very strong in the middle. They already weren't, and letting their starting MLB/SS go didn't help. I imagine you'll see a lot of runs up the gut and TE routes against the Eagles this year.

Wow, so Newton signed:

The Carolina Panthers and No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton reached an agreement on a four-year deal worth over $22 million that is fully guaranteed, according to a source.

Compared to Bradford's deal from last year:

On July 30, 2010, Bradford signed a six-year, $78 million deal, which has $50 million of guarantees and has a maximum value of $86 million making it the largest contract ever for an NFL rookie.

I knew they had changed the rookie scale, but wow, did realize how big of a change it was.

Asante to get dealt?

Totally shocked after yesterdays trade for DRC.

Wouldn't surprise me, if Asante is gone, but if he isn't that has to be the best 1-2-3 cornerback trio in the league.

I wonder if either DRC or Nnamdi would be capable of playing safety??? Not sure how physical those two are, I know Asante isn't.

If not, I wonder if a team would give up a first rnd pick for Asante.

Nnamdi started out as a safety, iirc

At 6'2" 182 DRC is pretty lanky/light to be a safety...and no way they give that kind of money to Nmadi to move him out of his sweet spot. He could do it, but I doubt they will. Maybe they figure they'll just run a ton of nickel packages and hope opponents don't run?

I could definitely see Nmadi playing the slot in nickel packages, depending on the lineup.

You are right, he is too light to be a safety, especially the down in the box kind of guy (think Brian Dawkins replacement) that they needed.

I'm not sure why you're thinking the Eagles signing Nnamdi means Asante might be the one gone; my money would be on Rodgers possibly being dealt again. Of the three, Rodgers has the lowest upside potential, he's the most inconsistent, and he was basically free since Kolb for a 2nd-rounder straight up would have been a steal for the Eagles.

If I were Reid and the Eagles I'd be looking at moving Rodgers for ILB/DT/OL help.
