VY to the Eagles is, I believe, a done deal. How fitting that the biggest crybaby in the NFL will be on the roster of the team with the fans most likely to boo their own. VY's gotta be hoping that he never steps foot onto the Philly turf of the well-mannered Philly fans will destroy him.

If he shuts up and produces, we will embrace him as our own.

Andy Reid. A BIG man who thinks BIG. For a Mormon former lineman, he's one riverboat gambler.

No risk, no reward :) and I know I am supposed to hate the Eagles, but, erm, I have to admit, I am impressed.

Really? When I made the VY to the Eagles post a few minutes ago, I was joking and hadn't heard anything of that nature. It does make sense though.

It's no joke, if the persistent rumor is to be believed. There are plenty of good reasons why it makes sense for both sides, too.

These ESPN Rumors' blurbs makes it sound like it's already happened:

UPDATE II: After Michael Vick's issues off the field, former NFL head coach Tony Dungy took the opportunity to mentor the disenfranchised quarterback. Now it's time to return the favor.

Vince Young will now be under the watchful wing of Vick, and the Eagles' starting quarterback is anxious for the opportunity to become a mentor himself.

"Looking forward to working with him," Vick told Reuben Frank of CSN Philly. "We'll spend a lot of time getting to know one another. It's cool ? I look forward to having him in here, look forward to making him a better player."

- Brent Sobleski

As we know, the Kolb trade has been completed, and it appears that VY could be headed to Philly. According to Albert Breer of NFL.com, Young has agreed to sign with the Eagles -- though there is as yet no official deal.

Confirmed by multiple sources, the Eagles sign Vince Young:

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Oh, by the way, the Eagles got quarterback Vince Young.

On the day they stunned the NFL by signing the No. 1 free agent on the market - cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha - the Eagles also added a significant piece by coming to terms with Young.

The one-year deal was made early Friday morning.

"Until a player appears on the transaction report, then any transaction is not official, including if the move has been discussed publicly," NFL spokesman Mike Signora said.

Because of Young's service time - he has played five seasons - he was on a separate list from the typical waiver wire and teams had to wait to claim him. The team confirmed the deal late Friday night.

The former Pro Bowl quarterback is expected to arrive Saturday for training camp at Lehigh University. Young won't be allowed to practice until Thursday because he technically is a free agent.

This has been one hell of a day for Philly sports fans. :awe:

Lololol @ the Eagles Howie Roseman being asked at a press conference announcing the signing of FA DT Cullen Jenkins if the organization still had the financial flexibility to do more FA signings.

He seeks out Joe Banner in the back for the most authoritative answer:

Never knew Banner had a sense of humor.

I am stoked, they do seem to be giving themselves the ammo to be a real contender. Now they need a LB.

Yeah, I'm stoked, too, but also alarmed and a bit turned off by all this media/fanboi Super Bowl hype.

You have to stand in absolute awe at what the Eagles have been able to pull off. It's been focused, successful, daring and bold.

But, at this point, they're still as much a concept as a proven team. One hell of an alluring concept, though. :p

So, yeah, they have real holes at LB and safety, plus the yet to be mastered gargantuan task of melding all these glittering pieces into a winning team.

But, HEY, at the end of the day, it's one fine time to be a diehard Iggles fan.

Only one obstacle remains....Andy Reid's hatred of the run game. Hmmm maybe he did some thinking during the lockout <que dream sequence/flashback> "what if, what if, yes! thats it! We will score, run to move the clock, and let our revamped defense win games for us </dream sequence/flashback>

espn reporting the jets replaced edwards with plex.

Risky move....hopefully he can get in sync with Sanchez quickly. Thankfully Holmes will take most of the heat off of him. Edwards had a rather mediocre season last year as I recall.

I can't believe the Jets lost Brad Smith....he was such a great versatile weapon.

I don't like the media circus either right now, but at least it shows that they are at least trying to do something right for the team. I was getting ready to blast them for doing nothing and then went out and grabbed the gold ring.

The team was already very good and highly entertaining on offense now they are on the way to fixing the defense.

One thing I do worry about though is Juan Castillo as DC. If he doesn't have a clue how to call a game none of this may matter much.

Broncos sign FA Willis McGahee. Wonder if we'll use him for anything more than a goalline back like the Ravens have. We can't get close enough to the line to use a back like that =P
