Except boom cars peak around 65Hz.![]()
Using "peak" to describe how low a frequency goes is making my head hurt. Would that really be the proper term? lol

So there's been some music playing late on Saturday nights recently and the bass it's throwing off is making it impossible for me to sleep. It stays on until 3am, and I like to go to bed before 10.
I live in a POA, and I called the security people tonight. I hadn't called them before, because I had hoped it was a temporary thing. They said they'd try to find the source and get it turned down. 45 minutes later, it's loud as ever, so I'm assuming they've failed. If I stand in my yard, I can hear lyrics. In my room it's just like having one of those cars with a booming stereo right outside. Best I can figure, the source is coming from about 750 feet away.
Anyway, aside from murder, is there any reasonable measure I can take against this? I don't really even know where to start with it, aside from taking it up with the local government since we have a strict noise ordinance.
I have a large window facing the noise source, is there some foam I could put up? I need to do something, I'm completely exhausted, but I can't sleep and I have more than three more hours of this shit to deal with.
fixed?
No, when you said burp cars peak at 65Hz you were talking amplitude, not frequency. No!
If you look at a spectrum analyzer you will see the peak output in the 60Hz range.
Why play that "music" at all and waste money on amplifiers when every 12 gauge extension cord and socket can produce over a kilowatt into the driver and not (voltage) clip? Silly kids and their bASS.![]()

lolwut?
there are many cars here that get much lower than 60Hz.
The whole point of burping is to take advantage of an amplitude peak... but I'm going to stop here because you are not clear at all.No I was not discussing amplitude. Never was I discussing SPL I was discussing frequency. Those systems that burp at 60 would distort badly at 20Hz.

What I was mentioning before as a system that can be heard for blocks [sic] won't be heard at 20Hz at all but at its peak around 60Hz.
And sound like total crap when they attempt doing so. Most of the boom is much higher but most people are just trying to make noise not reproduce the sound of actual music which is what a playback system is SUPPOSED to be used for. Makes about as much sense as walking around the yard with a machine gun to use the muzzle flash to find your dropped keys!![]()
