hahaha - YOU don't care, and yet you posted that book? Please kid. You asked me to find the post that gives that impression - this one right here. It didn't take me too long to find it, don't worry!
As for you attempting to funnel your attack on everyone else to me - that's not going to work...
Alright boys, I'm back. Now let's get this show on the road.
First off, understand that me responding to your post doesn't mean I was addressing you solely. It was meant for quite a few people, and you should know who you are by now. But yes, you were included.
Secondly, people asked me to explain myself, and I did. And when I did, all you can say is, AH HA, you do care! So which is it going to be, me answer or you quit being a moron? Let me be specific when I say, "I don't care." I don't care what you think of me. In that, whatever answer I give you, it is not meant for you to like me more or less. It is just an explanation. You call that caring, I call it entertainment. Now I don't do this often, because as you can see, it has been a colossal waste of time for me. But hey, I have some free time.
I understand economics and why luxury items are expensive. I have had a Blu Ray player for several years now, it plays nicely on my 50" 1080P SXRD, with the audio pumping through my Infinity IL40 speakers, powered by a trusty Onkyo receiver, filling my luxury downtown apartment. What were you saying about me whining that I can't afford nice things and I need to work harder? Oh....and I all of that stuff when I was in college and nearly broke. You seem to recognize this fact...yet you are still uppity about working hard and being able to afford nice things. Get your story straight, sport.
Wow, I take all I said back, you're awesome! I hope some day I could have cool stuff like you. And a 50", you must be rich. I'm impressed. By the way, what is an Onkyo receiver? Is that good? And how does that connect to that um, SXRD? That's an HDTV right? Yeah, you're definitely rich. Only rich people have HDTVs. That SXRD TV is more than $300, right? Sorry about what I said, you're definitely awesome.
You must not have read my post, because very little of your rant actually applied. This is a capitalist society, of course there will always be nice things that most people can't afford. I don't care about that. What makes YOU a douchebag is the satisfaction you get over that. What makes YOU an idiot is that you think Blu Ray needs to stay expensive, or else you won't get a hard on when you look at it. Here's an inside tip for you - new technology always comes out, is a luxury item at first, and then gets cheaper. And then - something better comes out! So don't you worry. A Blu Ray player will be $99 soon enough, and you might have walk around with a limp twig for awhile, but something new and better will be around soon enough! You'll be ok!
Yeah, and what did apply you chose to ignore. I gave you a reason, and you thought it wasn't good enough. Do you want me to give you more reasons? Recently I've seen an ugly trend in the HT market. Quality is being traded for lower prices. This is really nothing new, but it looks like it has been accelerated recently by the current economic state combined with people wanting more for nothing. There is only so much you can do as a manufacturer to lower costs. Lowering costs takes time, but Wal-mart Joe wants prices to drop IMMEDIATELY or they feel like they are being ripped off. All the top tier HDTV manufacturers are trying to compete with the likes of Vizio, Dynex, Insignia and other shit brands. Most people know those TVs are not as good as the top tier TVs, but they are good enough, and best of all CHEAP! So Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Pioneer all have to find ways to reduces costs faster than they normally would. And how does a manufacturer normally cut cost when they have no place to cut cost? Quality. Quality takes a shit or they go out of business. Perfect example, Pioneer. They couldn't cut costs enough and refused to lower their quality standards and bam, they are out of business. Some people would say, too bad. That's how the market works. Well, I'd say your are right. But that's not my concern. Quality is my MAIN concern and now that option has been taken away from me due to the Wal-mart Joe mentality. And worst of all, I can't do anything about it. I just have to take it. The other HDTV leaders Sony and Panasonic are also in jeopardy of leaving market. Quality takes another hit. Samsung is doing great, but no telling how 2009 or 2010 will treat them. They may be on the ropes too. So what will I be left with? Fucking Vizio and Dynex TVs. Shit quality junk. That might be great for Wal-mart Joe, but I have a little higher standards and I now have no options. So no, I don't want the bar to be lowered. Why? Because it effects me. Now I know companies can't dictate how the market works. If that is the trend, that is the way the market will go. All a company can do is make enough adjustments to go with the market and try to turn a profit. Unfortunately, quality is going to have to take a back seat for this to happen. It sucks and that is probably were most of my resentment lies with Wal-mart Joe. Wal-mart Joe to me equates to fucking me out of quality products. And yeah, that pisses me off. So if Wal-mart Joe wants to join the quality Blu-ray club, the price of admission now is ~$300. Don't have $300? Too bad. Not my problem. Again, now that the club is relatively small, I'll enjoy the perks.
Is that better for you? Do I need to write a novel the next time to give you a more detailed explanation?
