Arg, I pay 25 cents per scantron.

There is some competition, something called "Par-Score", a blueish and white tone instead of the usual green of the scantron. I'm yet to use one of these other sheets.

Yeah, I had to use a ParScore for some crazy GE comm class I had to take. Works just the same though. Whatever.

And I'm assuming those of you who have been gasping about paying for scantrons are still in high school. Things are a little different up here in the "big-kids" school. ;)

no , i'm in university
and I've been to some other colleges and friends at other university and I have never heard of buying your own sheets.
oh yea... i'm in canada... :)
schools give out for free... at least they can do for all the $$ we pay and time we waste on studying.

25 cents? The hell?
At my school, we pay 6 and 8 cents for green and blue scantrons, respectively. Wow...that must suck to pay that for one...relatively speaking, of course.

Haha, you are getting ripped off. I have a coupon for 3cents off and I use it all the time. I get all my scantrons for 13 cents. Sucks to be you. Too bad you don't know how to search for the deals.

15 Cents... minus 3 cents is 13 cents? HAH! Who's getting ripped off now? Perhaps a cent for shipping? I get FREE shipping!

Oh... and I don't think CMU uses scantron at all. I don't recall ever taking an exam using them. And if so, we don't have to buy them ourselves, haven't seem them available at school stores.

You know ParScore is a type of Scantron form right?

there was another form that we used from, i think, NCE... of course, we didn't really take that many scan tron tests, it being college and all.

University of Waterloo here, and we don't need to pay for Scantron. Although if it's $0.15 or so a sheet, that's no big deal.

What are you people doing that you need to pay for your own scantrons? Making up tests for yourself?

And does anyone else call them "OpScans"?

things like this were factored into tuition @ my school. All things being equal, I prefer not using them because I never carry a number 2 pencil anymore.

Oooooh.... opportunity for cheating, just bubble in ALL the answers. Or, too be less obvious, only bubble in extras on lines you aren't 'sure' about. ;) Hope he doesn't check for duplicate answers.

He could cut the cheating down by putting holes in all the non-filled in spots and looking for 'marks' but then someone could turn in a blank page and get a 100. I'm sure he already warned folks not to try that, but, heh, some teachers just aren't too bright, so, if not there you go.
