i agree.

and yes, i realize the sarcasm, but from a minority and a race that resembles that of the lead singer, and then finding out my uncle was killed by 2 officers while he was in handcuffs when he was innocent, some of the things they say hit a little close to home. but that doesnt mean i dont see it from an outside point of view, so, ill happily drop the subject and edit my post.

zach is definately RatM, rage is all about politics, and w/o zach tehre's no politics (eg Audioslave)

Tom's a crazy guitarist but he needs to loosen up and bring back that crazy scratching/solo's for audioslave

they wer epretty good, and they did not even sample music liek most bands do. Also, they had a really good guitarist.

Screw the top three just listen to the first album... it's all good!:D Rage has always ranked in my top 10 favorite bands I just don't pay attention to the political message. Damn good music for working out!!

I think musically they are pretty unique, though Morello lifts most of his chord progressions off of Hendrix (who hasn't?) Vocally and socially very cool how they are outspoken politically. I would have to say that as far as musically their self-titled is the best, vocally/politically it's Evil Empire next. I don't care for the other two albums as much, but they are still good.

Yes. They were simply amazing.

Great musical talent and mind-blowing politically charged lyrics. What's really cool is when you start exploring all their lyrics -- lots of hidden meaning. For example, "New Millenium Homes" off the Battle of Los Angeles is about the privatization of the prison system.

Audioslave, while very good, just doesn't quite cut it for me.

Just 3? Makes it hard for to decide.
Off the 1st album alone, I would say "Take the Power Back", "Know Your Enemy", and "Township Rebellion".

Musically they're great. Tom Morello especially. Dude is a God when he's got a guitar in his hands.

Lyrically they leave something to be desired. Zach often tried to write songs with a quasi-political/social meaning and usually just came off sounding childish and stupid. Example : "fvck you I won't do what you tell me" repeated 10 times or so. Very meaningful stuff....

I got into RATM after i heard 'Year of the Boomerang' on the Higher Learning soundtrack.

I agree with most of this posters on this thread that really give high marks to their debut album.

This is the band that converted me from an r&b junkie to a hard rock fan !

Everyone of their CDs are awesome. I personally like the first one (self titled), with the burning monk on it. It was the very first CD I ever owned... bought through Columbia House :D

It's ok... but I like the "rap" sound of Cornell... I don't care too much for the AC/DC type voice of Audioslave's guy. (although its ok)

Cornell is the lead for Audioslave... Zach de la Rocha is the lead for RATM...

"NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY YOU CAN'T STOP US NOW!!"

Best. Song. Evar.

It is such a excellent band, even though I don't agree on some of the things they say their vocals and their talent surpass any band in the Nineties IMHO.

I disagree. I think AiC was perhaps the best band to come out of the 90's.

Definitely one my favorite bands. You should check out their cd Live & Rare also. It's got some good songs on there plus their version of F*** tha police. Great cd in general.
